Is Martin O'Neill making enquiries at Spurs? It is likely

We don't know how much it was, but according to the PR General, it was more than any other club, so at the time you've got to fancy the move to Spurs was very much driven by the player and not Blackburn. Well, now I fancy the player doesn't have much say in the matter.

There was talk recently that he could be purchased for as little as £6mn. but I fancy it will cost more than that but he would be a valuable addition to the squad, that never rotates.

More on Bentley as and when we here it, but don't be surprised if this happens this time.

£6m and we're robbing them so will never happen.
£8m a good deal
£9m realistic price
£10m+ no thanks

C'mon MON don't force us to wait too long for our first signing - I want to enjoy the summer break.

Could Bentley be played in the middle as a central playmaker do you think?

VdS - It'd be good to let AY, DB and JM rotate playing wide and centrally. They'd all do something a little different so would be hard to plan and play against.

I agree with both of you, although don't think Ash can play centrally unless its a playing him directly behind Carew/Heskey.

I think with enough support behind him Bentley could pull the strings in CM but he's a bit like Beckham in that the quality of his delivery from crosses means that managers will always want him in a wide midfield role.

What do you want to bet we get him for 10m, then?

May or may not happen but I've heard the interest in him is from Spain. Athletico and Valencia. I know a friend of his and apparently this is his ideal move. And he's been taking spanish lessons.

Saying that, he'll probably end up signing for Portsmouth!
