Aston Villa at the Lane, live, banter, text updates, links and please, a picture of Megan Fox or two
We have a big day ahead of us. Three points would be a fantastic result today, not just because of the team we are playing but because we would be a point above them with a game in hand and if it happens, it will be a great position to find ourselves in by the end of the day.
Better still would be Liverpool and Manchester City drawing, both results are possible and if were to get that luck - we would find ourselves in fourth spot by the end of the day.
But, enough about what could happen if that happens, today is about beating Spurs and that is all we have to worry about, but it won't be easy.
We will be updating here throughout the day and on Twitter and not just the Villa match - with Liverpool and Everton kicking off in twenty minutes and me watching the match with an Everton fan and a Liverpool fan, I might have some fun with them too and on Twitter and here.
So, if you can't get to London and you don't have a TV near you, you can watch the game here and I also have a feeling there will be a link or two dropped somewhere in the comment section below.
Predictions please, links to pictures of Megan Fox - a proper Villa girl and anything you find funny or humiliating about either team from Liverpool, please help me and post it below.
Team news as we get it.

... Might as well get the links in, I suppose. Tons to be had today. For the person who asked on the previous thread, yes it's on ESPN in the UK. Easiest link is; http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch5.html But I'm going with Yes, for better quality; sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/6816 It requires sopcast though. Still sticking with 2-2 and I can't see anything but a cracking game |

... Own goal statto here: The first own goal ever registered The Football League was scored by Aston Villa's Gershom Cox in 1888 in a match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Stan van den Buys scored three own goals in one match. Andrés Escobar, a Colombian defender, was murdered after he scored an own goal in the 1994 FIFA World Cup that resulted in his team's elimination. Escobar became a scapegoat for Colombia's defeat, and his own goal is believed by many to be the motive for his murder. Frank Sinclair scored two own goals in three games in 1999 whilst playing for Leicester City In 1976 Leicester and Aston Villa drew 2-2 with Villa's Chris Nicholl scoring all four goals AS Adema beat Stade Olymique L’Emyrne 149-0 in 2002. Yes, you read that correctly. 149-0. The even more amazing part of this story is that AS Adema did it without scoring a goal. Their opponents, Stade Olymique L’Emyrne, took complete control of the national league game, reducing Adema to the role of onlookers, as they deliberately plonked the ball in the back of their own net 149 times, in protest over a refereeing decision. Radio Madagascar reported on Friday that SOE scored the own goals against Adema as a protest after their coach Ratsimandresy Ratsarazaka lost his temper with the referee. Adema’s players reportedly stood around looking bemused, doing nothing to stop the opposition from self-destructing. |

... The truth is we are not playing well at all. Our strategy is to frustrate Spurs into making a mistake which is dangerous. There are only two players on the pitch that are playing well - Dicky Dunne and Gabby. Even Collins, who has been rock solid for us, is having a mare (jumping in too quickly). As for Carew - MON doesn't have the balls to take him off after him coming on as a sub. We could end stealing this but it would be exactly that - A STEAL! |

... this has been coming for collins in my opinion. hes played well this season and gives his all but he is a limited footballer. i was at fulham last week and his positioning was poor. personally, id prefer beye in there instead; it gives us a better balance and our 2 best centre halves in the middle and on the carew heskey thing - YES WE KNOW!!!! give it a rest, we all know we need a striker, well done stating the obvious. if there is money in the summer and prices are fair, we will get one then. |
