Aston Villa didn't go out to win today. Aston Villa went out not to lose and look how it turned out. I think in ninety minutes we had two attempts on target and both of those were soft headers my seven year old son would have caught.
Alex McLeish is slowly destroying Aston Villa Football Club and the blame for that rests very firmly with the CEO and owner who decided to appoint him.
We sat back for the vast majority of the game and didn't look like a side wanting to win, let alone score. It was only the last three or four minutes when we actually started to take a little pride but by then Manchester City had decided that they were going to protect what they had.
This is what is wrong with Aston Villa at the moment and this is what people in the football world need to understand. It isn't about where McLeish came from, although that was always going to give him less time, it is the way he sets up his teams to play football.
His football, much like the protest today, is and was embarrassing.
I wasn't there so I can not comment, but I'm told it was two people holding up two pieces of A3 paper with 'McLeish Out' written on them. It was always going to be embarrassing and it turned out as predicted.
So, I leave you now, because I don't want to write something I might regret - but it is going to get worse before it gets better and there soon has to be change, because season tickets for next season are going on sale soon and the club are calling supporters asking if they are going to renew and they are going to know they have to do something.
So either expect a new manager or a signing to appease supporters - it is the Doug Ellis way and Randy Lerner is just another Doug Ellis - just without the football knowledge.
We are now fifteenth and it isn't good enough.
Ashley Young was at the game today, as was Craig Gardner.
Also, Gary Neville seems to think Alex McLeish is a good manager and the supporters are only against him because of where he came from. I want to put this right, once and for all, for Gary Neville and all the other football pundits that are saying this, quite coincidentally at the same time, it isn't because of where he came from.
It is because of what he serves up, week in week out and what he has served up as a Premier League manager, week in week out.
Because of where he came from he hasn't had as much time as someone else might have got, but that was always going to happen and that shouldn't be a surprise for anyone, least of all Gary Neville and all the other football pundits, people who claims to know a thing or two about football.

... first time i want Mcleish out |
... I think the commentator said it best " aston villa set out to contain and couldn't flip the switch when needed to". |
... ... Pathetic, this fool has to go !! Ireland and N zog our 2 most improved players on the bench, then bring them on when its too late. attack in the last 4 minutes and nearly score, why not do that earlier !!!!!!!! i think we may go down |
... i am so annoyed at watching this garbage offered on a plate |
... I'm amazed by both the fans and the pundits that no-one seems to see that it's all down to AMc - you go out to "Not lose" and this is pretty much what always happens. Outside of the blogosphere everyone seems to think that everything's OK - it can't be just me can it? |
... People who think this is nothing to do with Eck are sick, twisted even, unless they think norwich are powerhouses. |
... gary neville was spot on , we left everything to our defence to sort out. No attacking threat at all.. Our midfield may as well not be there, or may be its the instruction they are getting. Pathetic. |
... That was down to our tw*t of a manager, no risks, no encouragement to go forward until 5 mins from the end, players looking bemused at the tactics, what has to happen for him to go? he is simply not up to premier standard surely this is obvious, how many seasons does he need? Even the media seem bemused by him. |
... It will change. The club will have to do something if we drop in to the bottom four. No passion, no belief, no tactics , totally s**t performance from a totally inadequate Aston Villa |
... Totally agree on AMs culpability today. But I'll also point out that it was AGAIN a total team loss. 3 guys chasing Barry when he is going to head back in their direction. Dunne not closing down on a corner. Cuellar not finishing a golden opportunity (that other teams always finish against us) and of course the weekly unlucky moment of Hart's save on Bent. Team loss. Broken record. Ugh. |
... It's incredible that only 2 f**king people showed up for the protest? And that proves that a majority of them don't really care about the club anymore. And I'm getting pissed now that those very same "fans" wanted Houllier out,and are OK with the prevailing state-of-affairs at VP.That means we have no f**king hope of getting AMC out until his contract ends. |
... Were 15th and our CEO said we are targeting Europe. If we dont get 12 points, from our next 4 games. We are in serious sh*t |
... Pundits still going on about the fact that AM is an ex-Birmingham manager is the reason we want him out. Surely the world will have seen the real reason today. |
... Why wait till we go 1 - 0 down to bring on players who can attack. The worst manager i have ever seen. sick to death about AM and the board. We are now in a battle. |
... this blog is pathetic as well, lets slag the demonstration off instead of supporting it ! What do you actually want Damian Mcleish in or out ? Why take the *iss out of the demonstrators ?? |
... its not just villa since 1958.We had a great chance to do something today and once again the sheep spoil it for us.I really cant fathom why you would continuously support these muppets in charge. It was a massive chance today with the ss cameras there and its been wasted! Ive always thought we would stay up this season but im starting to change my mind. |
... Can anybody recall a more insipid series of home games than we have 2 witnessed against liverpool, man u, swansea and man city. This manager will take us down |
... A demostrations need to be planned. Probably if you lot had demostrated when this t**t of a manager was installed, like the 1000 that did - f**king apathy throught this club |
... Have no doubts we are now in serious sh*t, we have decent players GG looks like he will be a top player, but I fear it wont be with us. Get someone in even if only for the rest of the season to see us to safety then make sure we make the right choice (again) for a long term appointment. Whatever is done it has to involve McLeish going now! |
... I really do think we are going this season. We are absolute tosh. Baggies are better than and we are no better than bburn wigan or wolves. We are shocking. 90 % of the players don't want to be at villa. Wigan will beat us. We have nothing. We hoof it but have no height. Sad times and very worrying AM out |
... So gutless it's untrue. Why did he bring in baker for dunne when we were 1 0 down and on top (for 3 minutes)?????? |
... Don't lie to yourselves it is because of where he came from... We have lost our best four players (Milner, Young, Barry & Downing) over the past two seasons. These are players who have gone to the top clubs and we have not replaced them adequately due to ongoing budget restraints (essential to prevent the club heading into financial difficulties). These constraints as well as lack of quality in the remainder of the squad was obviously going to result in poorer performances and as a result, the club slipping down the table - whoever was in charge! He is not doing an amazing job, no, but we are achieving exactly what I would expect to achieve having lost those sorts of players and until he has the chance to rebuild his team - we are going to battling against it! |
... Wasn't football about defending and attacking, saying that we can't even defend, we only had 3% of the ball in thier half says it all |
... Divine, 2 People, no way, thats messed up, i think our only hope is if no-one renews their season tickets for next season. |
... Why did he play hutton and heskey again on the right after that previous showing against spurs away. Why? |
... We could of caused man city some problems today, as you seen towards the end, we lost the game anyway so why wait so long, or why not start the game like we ended it, and Wigan away won't be easy next |
... randylearner ur right.ST holders are the key.If they believe the b****x about marquee signings and renew then we r stuck with him till his contract runs out.If they stand up and be counted and dont renew then the board will have to act.So the ball is in their court. |
... marc51 load of tosh mate! So Norwich and Swansea have better players then us? |
...Don't lie to yourselves it is because of where he came from... Marc-51, I can't even be bothered to go through the details with you, just look to Newcastle, Norwich and even Swansea and see how stupid you are! |
... Listening to mcleish on sky sports - complete joke |
... If we had Man City's players and McMuppet in charge we would look as sh*te as we do now because the manager is clueless that is now glaringly obvious! |
... Just realised baggies are above us now....this is getting desperate! |
... It wasn't losing today that annoyed me so much again, it was the fact a so called aston villa boy hood celebrated his goal so joyfully (again) lescott should be ashamed!! Shame on him and no respect for a team that would of give him his boy hood joys and carved his future.. NZog and Ireland should been on early and we should have plyed the game of possecion..heskey defended well yes...but isn't he a goal scorer..no dis respect to the man more of the tactics employed. |
... Spot on dwight Yorke - you spoke has a supporter would |
... Tell em' Dwight, Ecks chatting s**t. |
... thats the problem there exactly randylearner and how many marc51s are st holders? It beggars belief it really does. |
...Marc_51 said:absolute fckin rubbish, did you watch the game today,do the likes of Norwich Swansea Albion etc have better players than us,you don`t think the human cornflakes tactics Albrighton left Emule Beckenbauer right Cuellar leftback hoof and chase has nothing to do with the results/performances. you are a clueless sheep,go spend some money in the club shop |
... Don't lie to yourselves it is because of where he came from... We have lost our best four players (Milner, Young, Barry & Downing) over the past two seasons. Wrong there is enough quality in this squad to beat Manchester City or at least give them a game.Realise its the managers poor tactics and team selection is costing us. APOEL Nicosia,do they have a squad then Porto? Nope but they took 4 points off them and qualifed for the next round of the champiuons league at Porto's expenSe. How did they do it? iTALIAN COACH AND TACTICS,BETTER MANAGER |
... enough is enough. not one half decent chance for Villa during the game. after 75 mins i was so depressed i could not watch more. i can't take it anymore. i wont put myself through watching another game unless things dramatically change. |
... Hahaha just seen the interview of mct**t, clueless b*****d, stutering at every question, asked about not winning at home in 7, his reply was win the next 1, he asked him how you going to do that and he stutered |
... it pains me to watch these days.. |
... ECK came across like the fool he is in the interview. When pressed about how to turn the homeform around he said win the next game, a bit smuggly as well! He was then asked how to win & he bumbled around not knowing what to say. Total Idiot Foolbag. Collins should never play for us again. did you see the defending for the goal? ECK OUT PLEASE!! |
... Switched off after final whistle, what did Yorke have to say? And as for protest, there were a lot more than two people with sign Damian. Probably more like 200 and there were others with signs inside the ground, not a great turn out no, but at least they are trying. What a pathetic little dig at those who are actually prepared to show their true feelings for the club, it's easy to sit at your computer and mock the numbers, but where the f*** were you!? |
... embarrassing sums us up. Im bored and ashamed to admit whilst watching the game i started to loose interest and not really care. I get fed up of the pundits saying its because he is ex blue, thats just lazy, its because he is so bad at his job. |
... Andri1 i HAVE BEEN A VILLA FAN SINCE THE 3RD DIVISION DAYS. This is worse than the Billy Mcneil days or comes close, because in that year we were never out of the bottom 3. iTS OBVIOUS TO ME ITS THE MANAGER NOT THE PLAYERS His negative tactics, utterly woeful,l until now called him Mr Mcleish, now he is a clown, infact a clown has the ability to entertain,so Mclueless it is from now on. |
... Most on here will take the piss out of what i am saying .But a 1...0 defeat to man city on paper is not a disgrace ,but in truth we were awful when it came to securing a goal or clear cut chances.Against lesser teams i would turn out playing like villa did in the early fifties with 5 up front and the main objective would be to score goals and not try and keep a totaly cleen sheet and nick a winner like what seems to be happening at present.I will always follow and support villa untill i kick the can but at least in the late forties and fifties the game was played to score goals and from that point was mostly entertaining and if you went home after losing you had least the satisfaction of seeing villa create chances and score goals.Playing heskey in a defenders role is a bloody joke he is supposed to get goals firstly and formostly NOT that he ever looks like doing that. Big ECK for the remaining games at least let the lads have a real go at opposition defences from the off and set the teams up to attack not defend lets go out trying to win all 3 points not secure draws ; everygame that passes leaves the task of staying up more difficult so let the BLOODY LADS LOOSE WITH THE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS GO FOR THEM FROM THE OFF IN A RELENTLESS MANNER. Come on you villa lads |
... Every home game there should be a protest from now on, same place, schedule times nearer the date. It doesn't matter whether you want Mcleish out, Randy out, Faulkner out, The General out, the whole shabang out or whether you want cheaper beer and more people serving at the bar, if you have any concerns about the club no matter how small, get yourselves down to the next home game and voice them! The more turn up next game, the more who will join the game after, it doesn't help that people make jokes and take the piss, but don't worry there are plenty of blogs and sites who fully support the protest and rightly so. How long will it take for some people to wake up and realise we seriously could go down!!! |
... To all these planks that kept on about Mctw@s record compared to previous managers he now has the record for our worst home run since the prem started and equalled a 134 year record so he must be good then eh anyone who backs this clown must hate this once graet club |
... I have tried really tried to get behind this manager i cant do it anymore. He is quite simply stupid and frightened and we are going nowhere under him, the board needs to act now!! i am sick of this crap about the kids being the answer there not the fans are deluded in that. big game players like Ireland and nzogbia need to step up they need to start the game first!! last of all we need a character to step up and run the team on the pitch and kick all the wasters arses when there under performing. |
... oldmcparland, thats right at least attack and loose, lets give the opposition a proper game. Its the way we are set up and the negative tactics that clearly are not working. |
... an ode for our suffering fans. i like to play warnock and collins at the back. if you pass them they will crack. dunne and collins,i think they are bliss. would rather go out on the p***! to the guys in the middle look up to the sky. then just watch as the ball flies by. as for the guys that play out wide. get back boys youll get caught offside. emille, emille i think your class. but please stop sitting on your ass. darren bent likes to play up front. get back and defend you stupid c***! now i cant understand that people think i play negative football, every body knows i have allways sent teams out to play out and out attacking football.just look at my record. ALEX McLEASH 2011. |
... Same excuses over and over again, we have Wigan and Blackburn away next, 2 must win games without excuses before we are in serious trouble, what a waste of a season |
... Yorky got it spot on " Didnt agree with Sitheads comments, ten years I spent at this club and its not acceptable, the facts speak for themselves" I have never missed a season since 71, and even in some of the worse Doug days have I ever seen such a pathetic manager make lame brained excuses as his. How did he ever get a job in top flight. There are managers in the 2nd Division who would handle the tactics and motivation better than him. Get him ou now!! I will not be re-newing until this a******e has gone and taken that pathetic sole called CEO with him. An absolute disgrace. I work hours and hours to make enough money to see thae team I love being destroyed in front of me. I cant justify my reasons any more. |
... Big carlos was man of the match today |
... its a waste of a season already. Now Wigan and Blacburn can hurt us,this side will be under pressure to perform. The home form is unacceptable, the tactics pure rubbish. |
... If you want my opinion,Mcleish was the man of the match with his team selection and poor tactics.I am beginning to hate the man. |
... Every one apart from mct**t has said why wait so long to change it, everton beat man city by having a go at them but most of our shots on target came in the last 5 mins, not acceptable for a premier league team never mind Aston villa |
... Just heard AMC in the car on the way back, was he at the same game, deserved a point, shouldn't have lost,he's not on the same planet, excuses, excuses always looking for an excuse, never says it has it is,the next 4 games will make or break our season, wake up and smell the roses. |
... Our squad is being poorly utilised by the negative philosophy of the manager. However, Norwich and Swansea have signed up and coming, hungry, young players with something to prove. We have signed overrated premier league dross. The other point is that nobody expected anything of Norwich and Swansea, so they have had nothing to lose. The expectations at Villa are that we will at least get into Europe. However, financially and in terms of fan base, we are probably 9th. In terms of the quality of our squad, the best we can hope for is 10th..... A positive footballing philosophy emphasising possession and attack might be acceptable to some, even if mid table was all that it achieved |
... just spotted this comment on teamtalk from a manchester united fan, proves it isnt just us king eric (Manchester United): McLeish...why on earth would you put Albrighton on the left and Heskey on the right? while Albrighton on the right and N'Zogbia on the left would have been better formation against City. What is the point in having 2 strikers upfront when your midfild were struggling to win the ball? A' MC Leish....there wer some basic tactical errors. For 75minutes you just asked your players to defend defend and defend ....with 2 men upfront doing nothing? why was it so difficult to spot there were fundamental error on your side? No wonder N'Zogbia is not enjoying your management. |
... To all of you who've been saying it for a while ........ I am now won over. I gave our manager a chance early on but there is no evidence that he knows what he's doing. Sad to say but Damo etc you've been right all along. PS Why have I been blocked as Rockster? |
... It really saddens me to say. That having watched that performance today I can not watch another game! I have supported and watched the villa since 1974. Through the good times and the bad, but when I see a team that shows no passion commitment or desire then, I will do the same. If, you believe we are not in trouble you deluded, 28 points 13 games to go, it can happen? Unless this guy gets out! I agree with all the comments above, but it's the first time mcleish looked stupid, with his back against the wall and believed we deserved a point - bloody clueless |
... So where were you protesting Villa Fans!!. Same as the Holte End. Non existant!! You're all effing useless. My husband was trying to defend the Holte end by saying, they have to have something to cheer or sing about. Well I would say that the players also have to have something to play for and not just their large salaries. We have to give them something to play for. They know we arn't behind them. We have to forget blaming McCleish it's too late for that. We must get behind the team and start singing and shouting again. We need a Delia, and we need Bent on the bench, he's an idle so and so. |
... rockster1 if your username is blocked it is likely because you made it personal if you continue to post without making it personal, i will unblock it |
... The football is so bad. You can't even say it is football. |
... Damian - you've made some sort of change the the web site, i'm blocked too, and cannot see the login screen anymore... |
... Mcleish must be sacked now!!!,next 4 games against teams in relegation area we'll get 10 points from 12 if he goes now |
... Marion, how can you cheer a negative performance. If they attacked and gave it there all, they would clapped off the pitch.EVEN IF THEY LOST. sorry marion,if you think this performance is worth cheering,GOD help us. And for the record its Mcleish dreadful tactics that have got us in this mess. |
... Has the ginger tos... been sacked yet? After yet another woeful display this man has to go. Please Gooooooooooooooo Noooooooooooow, not because your ex bluenose, but because a useless manager not good enough for the English premiership. |
... Same old story, same old tactics, same result. We are at home and we play Heskey right hand side midfield(never played there in is career)Cuellar at left back? The clown has know idea on how to win a game - f off now with lerner cos we will be lucky to finish 4 from bottom of premier at this rate!!!!! |
... saw the match on sky, carlos a right footed centre half thrown in at left back was my motm. never put a foot wrong, just the headed shot. We parked the bus then were lost when it got towed away! |
... How many times this season has he set up not to lose a game only to lose it !!! I did not go today..I will not pay 30odd pounds to watch us play 90mins without creating a clear cut chance, and the fact is I knew that before a ball was kicked. The only plus today must be Cuellars performance at LB. Thats surely the last we see of Warnock. Selecting Heskey is enough for him to be sacked on its own. Shocking performance (even given Man citys quality). |
... Marion said We have to forget blaming McCleish it's too late for that. We must get behind the team and start singing and shouting again. We need a Delia, and a new owner, ceo, manager, players etc |
... Well said Mr Yorke, who actually spoke truely about how many Villa fans feel at the moment. For the McLeish Muppet Brigrade, for the sake of our club, stop making excuses for this Clown. |
... At least the lad tried to make a protest work for the good of his club Don't see any other sites trying anything at all Just talk and hope its read by people at villa |
... mon4-5-1 login box is only on content pages not frontpage anymore .. just scroll up your account is fine |
... Cypriotvillan i have alwayselieved the best defence is attack , not in everything of course because that can be very costly but we are talkiking about a FOOTBALL GAME here and it should be played to win. When you sit back and invite teams onto you your asking for it they will either score directly themselves or get deflectionseither way they get goals. When your attacking and in their territory its that more difficult for them to score and much easier for villa.Yes your open to counter attacking but if you want to win you have to accept thatso i for one am hoping BIG ECK will let the lads play freely and push forward in our remaining games i can hope anyway.Going to get a bite to eat now and look forward to match of the day to see how TOOTHLESS we looked UP THE VILLA |
... We were lifeless today! The biggest thing we lacked was communication and understanding. The City players knew where each other were and where they would be. Every time we had the ball in a dangerous place the man on the ball would end up gesturing for someone to make a move before being forced to play the ball back. There was no imagination, no determination and no desire until N'Zogbia and Ireland came on. Why it takes 80 minutes for us to remember how to actually play football is beyond me. |
... damien why was my comment blocked |
... Goodbye Aston Villa Football Club ![]() ![]() |
... I have never been so worried as a villa fan after looking at our fixture list. Unless we get at least 10 points from our next four games I feel that relegation could be realistic as we shortly have chelsea, totenham, Man utd and Arsenal which after todays performance i could see us getting no points from these games. Time for Change. |
... What exactly does this site think the problem is MCLEISH FAULKNER OR LERNER OR ALL THREE ? Seemed to be mixed messages coming out of this blog Im not sure what the owners of this site want |
...Don't lie to yourselves it is because of where he came from... Some of you have already took the above apart. I only point it out again, as an example to why im utterly ashamed to be associated with supporters like him. And i would like to ask.... What f**king planet are you on? Im wrong, ive just seen the error of my ways. Its not actually the clueless muppets that appointed the twice relegated small heathen, and its not actually the small heathen himself, that are ripping the soul out of this great club. No. Its supporters like you, whom i will be blaming if and when we get relegated. Lets have a good outpouring of keep right on when it happens, aswell, shall we? Unbelievable. |
... My lad plays U11s football. A few weeks ago they were drawn in the cup to a team 2 leagues above them. My lad said we aint got a chance. I said, it's 11 against 11 get out there and play. He's a striker, and didnt get much ball, but they went for it. Got beat 5-0 or something, but at least they had a go.... Moral of the story......today i was ashamed to be a villa fan. Time to grow some balls. |
... Having just read Alex McLeish's post match comments on the sky sports app, this manager is truelly deluded! I'm absolutely dumbfounded at his comments. This manager has to go! Sack him now and get K-Mac and Sid to take charge until the end of the season. The next four games are critical. Wigan(a), Blackburn(a), Fulham(h), Bolton(h). A minimum of 9 points needed. That's an acceptable minimum too. |
... I have said it before. AMC out Ole Gunner in. |
... we only just stayed up last season with young and downing in the side so how the f**k are we going to survive this season with no quality what so ever ??? We only just stayed up because of Downings goal against pool and Bent double against Arsenal who were assisted by young and walker, 2 players who now aren't at villa. Its so sad to think that only a year ago we had Walker, Young, Downing and a flying Bent in our team. if only we could have kept them and let Houllier by quality. Makoun would be settled by now and be playing his lovely passing game, we would be moving the ball around nicely and there would be no warnock, collins or Dunne at villa by now |
... Can't believe Mcleish has the cheek to say we was unlucky Just shows how deluded and gone in the head this man really really is Still the bet people can't wait to buy a ticket for the next home match to watch the same old boring negative defensive rubbish eh ? |
... I have a bit of a dilemma. I hope we stay up, but if we do Mcleish gets another season to serve up rubbish, but if we go down we might get a decent manager. Somewhere between a rock and a hard place! |
... I was out late last night. And I actually went to bed at HT. I made a great call. Never ever in my life have I not watched a Villa game when I could. Says it all really about the state of the club under AM. I'd rather sleep than watch this team 'play' football. |
... Marc_51 - What f-ing planet are you from? |
...McLeish rues Villa's luck same every god dam week "I thought the game plan was excellent but the players were unlucky," McLeish told Sky Sports what erm defend, hoof, defend, hoof, defend, hoof, concede from another corner, defend hoof ?? are you watching Randy We must stop the errors, there is no doubt about that yo have said all season long and still no change so why will it change now ?? ou gave yourself a good account that's the least you can ask for and I felt the players were unlucky in the final moments." it was embarrassing AM. it was live on sky, the first half i nearly fell asleep. Through ou the whole game we couldn't pass for s**t and did we even have a shot on target ?? ou gave yourself a good account that's the least you can ask for and I felt the players were unlucky in the final moments." Really ?? pretty decent ?? you must watch a different match to us. Pretty decent is being generous, f**king dire is more like it |
...Still the bet people can't wait to buy a ticket for the next home match to watch the same old boring negative defensive rubbish eh ? Im lost. I just cant work them out. Question for the sheep. Whats the point of moaning and protesting after we are relegated? If you lack the backbone to do anything, then just stay away! Your club is having its heart ripped out of it, yet you stand by, and just watch.....are you villa or not? |
... Guys stop getting so hung up you were beaten by a far better side just like 90% of the league, your biggest problem today is acceptance that you are unfortunately a mid table team at best |
... AMC just is not fit for the job. He is not a PL manager. Even Steve Keane sets out his team better, even Keane plays to win games, even Keane can motivate his players and get them playing for him. I cant think of another manager this bad in the PL in recent memory. I really cant see him being sacked this season. The 1/4 win rule (and it is very sad how accurate this is) will ensure we are not in a relegation battle. The big question for me is will he be sacked in the summer? And im afraid to say im unsure of that. I think he will be in the job next season. Ive bee reading a lot of comments from around the web today. I think a lot of neutrals are finally catching on to how bad we really are |
... For all the supporters who were led in to a false sense of security after the second half performance against QPR, i'm afraid it was being blinding optomistic. As for the home fans, well the noise did rise for the last 5 minutes but that was only because the Muppet of a manager decided to throw more bodies in to the opposition half, which gave the crowd something to cheer about. It is clear evidence, the players have nothing to do with the tactics, this was purely down to the Muppet in charge. |
... 2 points from 21 21 percent of the game at home The Useless s**t Embarrassing protest Well it may have.been A bed sheet and some a4 paper with ECk out But at least a few of us care about our club Yes I did feel a dick being 1 of the minoritory but at least I was there showing my displeasure Not just hiding behind a keyboard a supporter not just a fan Some people act some are happy to watch someone die What do you want to be |
... Randy Lerner,Paul Faulkner You have sent our beloved club into a RELIGATION fight. You appointed a manager who is unable to address the playing side of the club. You allowed Mr O'Neil full control on wages etc.Doug Ellis would never have allowed this great club to get in the state you've both allowed regards finances,Randy please get a grip & return Villa back to greatness, |
... is it kean or keane? who cares u get the point |
... have i missed something how can you return villa back to graetness when they were never there? |
... Respect to the lads with the bed sheet and young girl with the ECk out and f**k you all taking the Genting foam gloves another but off from the yanj |
... Yes the Muppet of a manager blames making same mistakes yet, he chooses Collins and he was to blame for the goal. How many times has Collins ball watching this season!! Apparantly our game plan almost worked according to the Muppet, so we can then completely blame him for the performance and loss this time!! |
... If AMC goes who is available Steve Bruce or what about Mick Mcarthy as looks like he will be out of a job tomorrow Please don t keep touting Kevin Mcdonald last game he managed we lost 6-0 to the Toon As for Sid one of the best players ever to wear a Villa Shirt let s keep it that way and ley him keep his reputation intact I honestly don t know which way the club can turm and yes I am worried that relegation is real possibility |
... I believe mcclueless has a twin or something, cause I just heard him say that the game plan went well, we deserved a point, he couldn't ask anymore of the players, the two players who talked up got dropped, then brings them on to not only to safe the game but to same himself, all those sheep on here who r backing this clown I say this u can't defend that! U can't defend that game, them tactics, u can't defend that stuttering interview, u can't defend him, this man is a fool can't u see that! |
... Buying the league is not wining it |
... city boy buying the league is not winning it |
...city boy said:f**k off you horrible little c**t,and learn how to spell dickhead, you will never be great and your history is pathetic. |
... city boy without your fat Arab and all that money you wouldn't be far off us |
... Why isnt heskey making the teas and slicing the oranges poorexcuse of a footballer embarrasing wearing a villa top not jus today but for a while . please f**k that ginger c**t off up dont let aston villa die under a poinsonus injection of mcarsehole Randy do the right thing |
... The yank is probably enjoying this hoof football. Its the 'american way' right - get is as far from your own 'zone' McCLEISH OUT NOW GREGORY TO RESTORE SOME TEAM SPIRIT until the end of the season |
... Even worse than the performance was AMCs post game interview. He thought the game plan was good. He thought the desire was good. He thought we deserved something from the game... scary |
... I really don't get why these people getting slagged off for the protest At least they are trying and making there voices heard Don't slag people off for trying All they want is what is best for there club and we all know what is best apart from our board of course |
... your right without all the money we wouldnt be far off you but we would be in front! Villa have never been anything city have far more history and a bigger fan base so accept and grow up |
... Citeh boy, make the most of it, you've spent most of your supporting career watching sh*te. Or are you a glory boy been with the club 10 minutes. You will be back in the second flight as soon as the money dries up.... What would Citeh be without their rich owners. One's a loan. Two's Kompany and three's a crowd. |
... Lmao @ cityboy signing up for a villa site History PMSL you have zero history well il give you thing though you's were league 2 specialist's |
... sussexharks, what do you mean by available, Eck wasn't even available was he? Deadteamwalking, who's getting slagged of for protesting, I think some want a boycott though. |
... Citeh Boy - you'll have brian horton or peter reid back once the moneys gone - moron Gregory back please - we sailed in from this postion before |
... They have been slagged off on here and other sites twitter facebook etc etc I kinda agree with what one said on twitter How can you keep slagging Mcleish off if your prepared to do absolutely nothing about it |
... No belief, no ambition, Heskey instead of Ireland = No creativity and 73mins before we have our first shot at goal. This isn't good enough at home whoever the opposition. Things did improve with N'Zogbia and Ireland. Why didn't they start??? |
... know your football history your nowhere near the villa, sad tw8t. p.s support chelski last season, liverpoo before that. |
... I'd have Craig Gardner back anytime. No one can say he never gave his all for the club whoever he happens to support. Also can cover right back! |
... Just seen McIdiots comments on Sky - farcical "played brilliant, gameplan fantastic" GO AWAY P.S do NOT believe any of this propaganda regarding Marqee Signing its just PR rubbish |
... I wonder if the same muppets telling us to support AM and that we did not have an easy fixture list at the start of the season will be making excuses for AM with a difficult end of the season |
... Citeh boy. History.... ha ha ha ha ha ha . Priceless. Are you 12. |
... I've just listened to Eck's interview on Sky and if anyone needs a laugh, I urge you to watch it. It was even worse than our performance!!! We're stuck with him until at least the end of the season so I just hope we don't get relegated. Oh yh, with Keane gone, if Gabby doesn't come back we're fecked or should that be 'Eck'ed |
... Yeh Riche Thats what it needs doesn't it more defensive minded players Its no wonder Bent if going to rack n ruins Mcleish style of play does not give him much service what so ever Can't believe in these hard times the club still expects money and fans to turn up how about provide value for money first |
... For me Hesky put in a shift today doing a job wiping mutations arse foe hi The. It man is an easy target I have. Ever been a fan of his but he earns his wages taking one for the team |
... Craig Gardner is an attacking midfielder. |
... Sick an tired of reading you muppets moaning about the clown in charge!!! Do something about it then, stay away as part of an organised protest, moaning on here ain't worth s**t!!! |
... Randy Learner what do you mean by available, Eck wasn't even available was he? He had left his post over the City Can t see any Manager leaving his job at present to come down her and take over the reins so suspect it would have to be an out of work Manager Like Bruce ,Warnock neither of which would in my opinion would be much of an improvement I said in a post a Month ago that I felt things could well get a wee bit worse before they get better and looks like that is happening Now just a case of staying up pure and simple |
... Haven't read all the comments but a few, I agree wholeheartedly with Damian. Gary Neville like a lot of commentators talk out of their hoops when they say they think it's because of where AMc came from,I think they're deliberately trying to make us look like dumb naive cretins that are just prejudice and that's not the case at all. I watched the game and until Mercenary City scored there was always a chance but why oh why oh why did AMc leave creative players on the bench and then leave it too late to do anything about? It demonstrates ineptitude I'm afraid, ineptitude that now has AVFC in 15th place in the league and it's just not good enough. We knew this would happen when Lerner appointed him and it's happened, now the fear is we're slipping towards the deadly relegation zone. All I can say is thank god there are worse teams in the league because that's the only thing that will save us, let's hope it's enough. As for the demonstration, Sky Sports said there were one hundred'ish fans there, I don't know but it's an indication of why things will stay the same, not enough turned up and loads went inside to watch the game so why should Lerner worry? Supporters going to the matches aren't helping the club right now, maybe they're that brainwashed they can't help it, maybe they're season ticket holders who think 'well I've already paid' and go anyway. The big question is will they renew and go again next season when there's a possibility they'll be watching Championship football? Today was a prime example of why we'll never get anywhere with this manager, we were at home, yet we went out to not lose, to defend and have every man behind the ball, so much so that even Bent was back defending and giving away fee kicks. I would have been happier if we'd gone out all guns blazing and thrown caution to the wind, played our creative players from the start and given it a go, after all we were the home team, would you believe? city boy - how many European Cups have your bunch of mercenaries won? Villa are the fourth most successful team in English football, your bunch of monkeys come nowhere near and if it wasn't for greedy b*stards and arab money, you wouldn't be where you are. However it won't do you any good because Man Utd will win the title! |
... And when he plays for MCLEISH like any other player he becomes defensive Even the great Messi would go to rack n ruins under Mcleish |
... I thought Carlos was streets ahead of warncpck and Hesky would be trotter than mutton in that position that how bad mutton is |
... I've had enough. I'm usually one for giving the benefit of the doubt, but we are going nowhere with this manager. He has to go. I'd rather have Venglos back I just can't fathom how Randy can buy into Mcleish just because Fergie writes a letter of recommendation. Has it really not occurred to him that he (Fergie) was looking after his friend (Mcleish), not because he wants Villa to do well? |
... Fat K You are right Heskey did put in a shift today but he isn't good enough and he certainly isn't a midfield player. Picking him ahead of Ireland was a conservative, 'lets no lose' selection from a negative manager. He's immobile and is never likely to create anything |
... RSVF, It's a blog, people post their opinions , rightly or wrongly. What can a single person do about Eck on their own, other than assassinate Eck! P.S. I'm not condoning murder |
... sussexharks, i can't be bothered to check, but i'm sure we had to pay birmingham compensation, which to me say's he didn't leave first. Please check and correct me if i'm wrong. |
... sussex, may have been his backroom staff, anyway point is you can buy manager's out of their contracts you know. |
... RandyLearner Yes compensation was paid do you honestly think anyone would leave their present position to Manager this rabble what the hell have they to gain who wants relegation on their c.v. If we stay up then who knows maybe change in the Summer Best hope if Randy loses interest and sells up but not sure if that will happen |
... Don't be fooled into renewing your ST [url= http://www.dailystar.co.uk/foo...er-window/ Utter nonsense... Either we have money or not... The only thing we should splash the cash on is a new manager... Wayyyyyyyyyy out of his depth |
... I think the best thing is People who really really want Mcleish out stop going to villa park Those that are happy carry on going and waste your money But don't come on here and sites like this afterwards moaning you want him out when all you are doing is keeping him in the job by turning up week in week out to sing willa willa willa |
... One more thing from me Why no Big Eck's Claret n Blue Army ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? |
... No win at home since early November, worst home record since...and the Clown of a manager says the game plan was spot on. He really is a loser of a manager and is trying to set our expectations to rock bottom, just to cover up his own inadequacies. It beggers belief that there are supporters out there who are still giving him the benefit of the doubt - even blaming the players - when it is the manager that determines the tactics and the tempo the team playes. Now these so called supporters are either in total denial - basically got it totally wrong - so now are trying to back track, or they just do not have a clue. |
... Sussex, oh so he didn't leave then? Do I think anyone would leave, yes I do, I don't know who your thinking of, I'm not talking about Mourinho or Sir Alex. Eck won't get the sack before the end of the season so relegation on C.V's doesn't come into it. After what Faulkner said about Europe 14-17 position should mean the sack. Hoping that Lerner sells up Isn't our best hope as this is the least likely scenario. |
... I have always thought Carlos was our best defender, and maybe had he played all season we may have had a couple of more wins.We were at the match today and you could tell that we were going out not to loose the game, this makes the whole experience dismal to watch, then a few minutes before the end I think the players suddenly realize we are lacking behind and try and get forward. have watched the comments on Sky since getting home and I think AM was watching a different game to me,but I must say that Dwight Yorkes comments were spot on,he said what we all have about negative tactics,I wonder if AM reads these comments. There were a few at the protests, but they defeated the object due to using the F word, the protest would never be televised.WE season ticket holders must stand our ground and not renew next season, then our CEO and Lerner will take notice, and why pay to watch another season of dross under the present regime, support non league instead. We are going to struggle now with defenders injured, players out on loan, the whole situation is going from bad to worse. |
... The Muppet has blamed: . The youngsters . The Squad Depth . The Fans Bascially anyone or thing apart from himself. Today the Muppet of a manager took it one step further, after the riot in the dressing room last week, where he blamed the players, so obviously he could not use that card again - he blamed it on his bad luck - what a complete and utter loser, not fit enough to manage any premiership team, let alone sleeping giants like us. |
... For the first time in my life I am struggling to relate and understand the Villa and it's down to Mcnegative. Even in the difficult days of the old 3rd division in the early seventies we as a club had soul and heart. Maybe it's just the way of things now - football clubs have customers now not fans - bloody sad. |
... Hello fellas! I enjoyed corporate hospitality today for the first time...i met Martin Tyler of Sky Sports, I toured the dressing room and I joked to our guide, "can i shuffle the first eleven around?" I got photos in the dugout and got free beer and food in the Sky Sports lounge all day. It was a real treat and I work hard at my job so it was deserved. I had a season ticket in the Holte End end a few years ago and the difference in the surroundings and the way you are treated is staggering...money talks i suppose. The game was the low point...first half was dire. When we all saw Heskey's name on the teamsheet we thought why the hell is he at right wing. The best play was in the last 20 mins when Ireland and Nzogbia came on and actually passed it a bit. Man city were not that great today but we were waful. Please LEAVE Mcleish. I wish they's let me stay in the dugout on my stadium tour and thrughout the match, i would've given them more intent than we saw,,, |
... quote from the Muppet: I think we were the unluckiest team in the league this weekend So now our performance and result is not down to him or his tactics -obviously he can't blame the players, there already sick of him, just like alot of the fans. I suppose he had the same bad luck when he was managing the Clowns as well. |
... Wolves were more unlucky than us and they lost 4-1 |
... I never wanted McCleish to take over and I deplore his miserable dour tactics, but to blame him for everything that is wrong at the club is just wrong. We have lost 4 of our best 5 players in the last couple of years and our chairman has decided that he can no longer afford to compete with the likes of Chelsea and MCFC. What the hEll do you expect ..... Obviously we are going to go backwards. Yes its depressing and degrading that the likes of Swansea, the Baggies and Norwich are ahead of us right now but if we are really honest, is it totally surprising. Yes we believe that we should be challenging year in year out, but back in the 80s Liverpool were the best side in the world and now they are not. Times change people. |
... Drainpipe the troll, scroll up to marc-51 and read reply's, thankyou. |
... Just got a text from a friend saying that he has heard that Billy Davies is being lined up as our next manager. Maybe Lerner is running out of patience? Maybe my friend is talking s**t? Would be great if he gets the bullet soon though wouldn't it. |
... Just read this on teamtalk, made me smile for the first time today. "Moustapha Salifou will re-join Aston Villa in the close season as an attempt by Randy Lerner to lift the mood oof disgruntled Villa fans." |
... Drainpipe - So Arsenal having lost much bigger players in Fabegras and Nasri yet they sit in 4th place. United the season before lost Ronaldo and Tevez and winning the league. So what's your point, we lost Young and Downing and replaced one with Nozgbia. We also upgraded our Goalie and bought in a new full back. Our negative tactics and dire performances can only be blamed on the Muppet in charge, and yes, we can also blame Lerner and his cronies for choosing such a Clown with an appalling track record. If this had been last season and this Muppet was in charge, we'd be favourites to go down because the Clowns (Blues) he managed last season went down with 39 points, which is what we will just about get - he's good at getting around the 39 to 40 point mark and no higher. Oh I forgot, Newcastle lost Carol, Enrique, Barton in a season, yet they have not regressed. The manager is the key figure in any club, and at the moment we have a Clown in charge of us, and the reason why we have not won since early November because Villa Park is abit of a circus for visiting teams at the moment. |
... AM says he will sign good players in the summer Means he will still be at villa what ever happens. the worst ever manager we have had will still be at villa come the summer. his idea of a good player is Alan Hutton |
... just watched the spurs 5-0 win. i remember when we scored 15 home goals in 3 mathes a few years back. I miss those days so much |
... mon 4-5-1, I completely agree that both McCleish and the board are culprible in all of this. My point is that I look at our squad and I see an average side with extremely average players and there is a limit to what can be done with them regardless of who was in charge. I detest watching the likes of Warnock, Collins and Heskey starting for us but realisitically what alternatives do we have right now? Negative tactics are obviously a factor and are contributing to our current situation (and for that McCleish has to take 100% responsiblity) but to answer your question, my point is that we have to be realistic. The Wigan manager turned down the opportunity to manage us back in the summer and they are bottom of the league right now. We are not as attractive a proposition as perhaps we think we are or should be. |
... if AM is sadly going to buy its vital he buys players with athleticism. Look at Newcastle, Ba, Ameobi, Cisse and Best, all 4 quick, strong, powerfull players who can give any defence the s**ts and if you supply them they will score. We need wingers as well. We have no height in our side. we aren't dangerous going forwards, we are easy to play against and we need to address that in the summer |
... Drainpipe - but if the tactics are negative then, surely this means we are not playing to the strength of our players so, how can we possibly know if the majority of our squad is average. Now if you take into account the run we had in the second half of last season, we are missing Young and Downing, but as I said before, have replaced one with Nzogbia whilst Albrighton has filled the boots of Downing. Surely with the form we showed in the second half of last season, now with the decline this season with basically same set of players, it is alarming and can only be attributed to the manager. If you also take in to account Irelands influence on the first 11 this season then, it's even less of an excuse to say we do not have the quality, and it's exactly what this Muppet of a manager is trying to convince everyone just to cover his own defencies. Playing Heskey on the wing whilst having Nzogbia sitting on the bench. Our best performer in recent matches (Ireland) sits on the bench, whilst the likes of Collins who makes the same mistakes week in week out gets selected. To top it off today, he said todays defeat was down to bad luck, so bad luck is to blame for today, how pathetic, when will the penny drop and he realises he is not fit to manage in the premiership. |
... I said it weeks ago and i ll say it again this manager is taking this club down.Hes has no clue what to do with this squad and players are now speaking their mind as they see it too.McCleish is doing the same as what he done last season with them up the road. And we ll be passing each other come May.Do us all a favour and jump now.I am amazed the board can t see what is on the horizon they dont want to spend now so god help all the loyal fans who actually care about this club. |
... Drainpipe - can you please tell me how the likes of Ireland, Nozgbia, Bannan, Albrighton, Bent are supposed to prosper when this manager is so anti-football. I can understand being defensive against a side like M.City, but at no point through the game did we even attempt to push bodies into the opposition's half. Bent was picking the ball from mid-way through our half (our most forward player) and attempting to run at the the back four of City, who were in no way troubled because, they had nothing to worry about. This is not about players, but the managers tactics. I can put odds on, if we had a manager in the same mould as Rogers then, even with the same set of players, we would have won far more this season then what we have so far, and with much more attractive style of football. |
... Do you think Mcleish isn't in the running to become the next England manager because he's Scottish or cos he's s**t? |
... What i would like as a supporter is a manager: . Who believes in playing the passing game . Who Believes in promoting within the club where possible . Someone who speaks English and understands the premiership The manager does not have to necessarily come from the premiership, but must have a track record of doing well for the clubs he has managed - basically utilizing the maximum out of the resources he has had with success in the leagues, divisions he has managed. If this manager needs support - in the transfer market - then we should recruit a Director of football to take charge of this role. Surely globally there must be such a manager who would like to come to the biggest league in the world and manage us!! |
... Mct**t said: That was in no small part due to the organisation of the team and the will to stop things getting on target. I think Ginge threw himself at one and took it right in the face for example. Who the f**k is Ginge?? |
... Mcleish angered me today with his team selection. When i saw his line up i was pissed off but not surprised. Starting with Heskey on right wing and with Ireland and N'Zogbia both on bench. Ridiculous. There's no doubt we were playing for a draw or trying to limit the damage from his selection. Thing is McLeish never seems to acknowledge when he gets things wrong. His postmatch interviews are becoming more incoherent. Keane is off back to LA now as well . These upcoming 4 games are big games. Wigan , Blackburn , Fulham , Bolton. I still feel we have no chance of going down even under this manager but if we dont get wins in these forthcoming 4 games we are well in it. McLeishs stats and record with us are becoming ridiculous. Not won a home game since bonfire night last year and have managed 6 wins all season. |
... Starting a game without one naturally left sided player, I don't think he ever had the plot never mind losing it ! Southgate for the rest of the season anyone ? At least we'd get an articulate post match interview. Feel sorry for Gardner, finally given his full home debut but against the top team in the league, that's piss poor management and shows a complete disregard in how to nurture a great young player, despite that he showed some class touches. |
... I don't get how you can be unlucky if you don't try Only in you mind are we unlucky Alex Mcleish only in your mind What is unlucky is our fans having to put up with this defensive negative rubbish week in week out Just wondering what has happened to the brainwashed deluded insiders ? Can you tell us where Randy Lerner is and what time was he out of the bath this morning |
... No doubt in my mind we will be relegated under mcleish,he is a genius at acheiving it after all.He kept two of our most creative players on the bench because they had a go at him last week....big f**kin baby...! It;s not about you alex its about AVFC.I've also said this before but Albrighton is not yet EPL standard, not saying he wont be just not yet. |
... This result is disgusting.Get rid of the manager now.Who in the world made the decision to hire this guy?Why stay with defensive tactics if the team can't play that way?Play more like Spurs.I would rather lose 5-4 than 1-0 or 2-0.but there is no excuse for playing so poorly at home. You have to win.New manager -take the guy from Hearts who can hold a team together even if the payday is delayed.Or Fabio, where are you? |
... You've only to got to look at the statistics yet again. 36% possession at home(32% in first half!) 65% passing success against 81%, with Man City with nearly twice as many passes. WAKE UP Randy Lerner and get us a new manager or sell up to someone who will!! |
... Clark is injured, that's great news. That means he won't be played in midfield as a holding midfielder, which he's evidently not good at.Gardner should retain his place in central midfield with Bannan alongside him,Nzog on the left, and Albrighton on the right,Ireland up front with Bent.Dunne is out too as well, which means the Spanish King is going to be played in his natural and best position - Centreback. In closing,I'd like to thank Robbie for his contribution during the few weeks he's been here! Thanks a ton,Robbo! |
... What a pack of lies this dickhead of our manager is uttering in the interview.Incredible! He's going to blame everyone and everything but himself for the horrendous performances of the team. This is what it says under the video interview "Alex McLeish felt his team put in a brilliant effort against Man City but conceded they had to take their chances" |
... It was not just that we lost it was the manner in which we lost you can take a 1 - 0 defeat to a top teaam if you give 100% and go out to try to win the game, but to lose in the manner we did is a complete disgrace. |
... We looked 100 times better when we had Ireland and NZogbia on in the last ten minutes. The question is why did Big Eck let his f**king ego get in the way and bench them both. Also, from what he says in the interview yesterday, "if we would have taken it to them early, we would have been ripped apart" - dead giveaway that the plan is to draw and perhaps sneak one at the end. He let his Ego get in the way and to be fair, we bossed them in the final 10 minutes.....what could have been if we had tried to play? We will never know under this guy. We wont be able to see players playing to their true potential because they are all under strict orders to play a dull uninspiring style. This guy just isnt a very good manager. Wheres the innovative thinking, imagination and guts to go out and try and take on a big club like Man City? GH did it last year vs Man U and we felt like we had won it despite drawing in the end. We saw some amazing play that day against the eventual champions. Forget that this year and for ever how long Eck is in. |
... I think that anyone who saw the McTw@t post match interview realised that we have a delusional, lying and possibly retarded manager. Well done Yorkey for telling the viewing public how many of us feel. Just a quick question, what has happened to RLancaster and his "Unleash the McLeish" and "The future's bright, the future's ginger" Propaganda campaign? I have to admit too, although I am not Frem's biggest fan, some of his comments today have been spot on.....I need to lie down! lol |
... I do not really know where to start??? As others have stated, can anyone rmember a more depressing time to be a Villa fan? Every week we set out with 10 men behind the ball... I would not mind but we are not even hard to beat!!!! Like others I do not care where AM arrived from... He has not got a clue! It is a shame that more Villa fans do not feel the need to protest against the way the club is going? It suprises me as I have been going to Villa Park for years, and I know how much people love the club. Why is eberyone happy just to turn up, and accept this rubbish?? I fully understand the 'we need to get behind the team' ethic, but we are way past blind hope... If we cary on like this everything that has been built up at Villa Park over the years will be lost! I for one will never renew/buy a season ticket from now on, as I can not see another way of showing my anger! Above all I feel for all Villa fans, we have a great club and until AM and his mates turned up things were good! I know we were never going to win the Premier League, but at least we went to Villa Park and felt part of something... Now there is just nothing! Please AM... Just leave, as you are well out of your depth!! |
... AM is on Sky Sports... 'I pride myself on home performances' !!??? That has cost me £400.. I have just thrown my coffee cup through the ginger pr##ks fat face ![]() Off the Curry's to get a new TV |
... All I can say is the man has very little pride! |
... All this winging is hilarious. We had are chance to make a decent protest and f**k all showed up. 35000 attendance at the match? What happened to fans staying away?Either boycott the matches or protest, showing up doesnt do anything but keepp McLeish in a job and Lerner in money. I even seen fans clapping McLesih while he was walking down the pitch for kick off, no wonder hes so smug. |
... Instructions to the team must be, go out and play for nil nil draw if you concede pursue same tactics and if you can keep it to nil one until the 86th minute attack them and try to score so that they wont have time to go ahead again, RESULT !! Seriously though the only way out of this is not to attend and not to renew season tickets, hit Lerner where it hurts and he will have no option but to replace Mcleish or sell up. |
... @jjavfc Next time get a gun and shoot your pillow... It's a lot cheaper and it worked for De Niro in Analyze This ![]() ![]() ![]() |
... The Black Pearl - Your right, I even saw some deluded fans applauding AMc during the game and him acknowledging them, maybe they live on the same planet! 35,000 for a home game against a 'top side' is poor though, at least 7,000 stayed away and have got the message. My protest is to stay away and not buy any merchandise and I've been doing it since we lost our ambition and it became clear the 5 year plan was a sham. And before anyone asks, it's not the easy option, it's awful but it won't change until Mr Lerner changes his entire outlook for our club! |
... You will never lead a sucessful team unless you have desire and passion and Alex McCleish has neither. He has no clue on what his tactics should be or how to actually win a game! He has no character or carisma as a person and does not instill the will to win from anyone. It is time to say goodbye to Mr McCleish otherwise I am afraid that we will wave to Blues as we go down and they come up. |
... A team packed with attacking players, Bent, Keane, Albrighton, Gardener, Heskey, NZogbia are asked to go out and defend until the last 10 minutes, when its too late, attacking players dont defend naturally the guy is a joke and a liability, we dont have bad players but they are being made to look awfull by McMuppet and his tactics. |
... Great article in the Gaurdian today: Nearing the exit at Wolves and Villa? |
... villa 16/1 to go down this season now.hope your watching faulkner, lerner we told you so he is not a prem manager. |
... only one way to get rid of useless managers....boycott next home game. We deserve better or we are just waisting our money!, absolutely fed up with a sunday league looking set up. Honestly it's like buying a thorough bred race horse and putting johnny vegas on it to win the grand national... idiotic idea, looks stupid and everyone else is having a laugh at it...yeah that's us Randy, thanks. |
... It makes me laugh at the hypocrisy of the media towards alex mcleish, one minute they all say he's a good manager, and in the next breath they highlight some of the worst statistics to come out of Villa for years. I mean he must be a good manager to get relegated from the premier league twice in three years, soon to be three in four years!!! Get him out now!!! |
... Villa by Birth said: ... Great article in the Gaurdian today: Thats a great piece. Finally someone writing the truth! Now if other journalists start writing the same coupled with reduced attendances less season ticket sales, sales from the web shop etc maybe just mabe there will be a glimmer of hope that common sense will preval & ECK will be sacked. Hes not gonna resign, he will want his payoff. |
... and now here is the city - at last people begin to recognise:- Alex McLeish |
... I found McLeish's post match comments almost as embarrassing as the match itself. I could perhaps tolerate a defensive approach against a team like Citeh if we had a reliable back 4. We don't and we concede from corners a lot. When you concede from corners so regularly and against a team that is much smaller like City, then this really does put into perspective how wrong McLeish got the tactics. I think we would be more forgiving in defeat, if our team had had a go at Citeh. We have a top class striker, given the service, we don't have top class defenders. If our team was more entertaining then I honestly believe we would have MORE points on the board whilst at the same time giving the crowd more reason to come to Villa Park. Unfortunately Villa's hierarchy believes in a different approach which results in a lose lose situation. s**t entertainment, s**t results, s**t attendances. Lerner = Muppet. Faulkner = Muppet. McLeish = Muppet. I will be delighted whenever any of these muppets depart from our football club. |
... I have a theory. Mr Lerner is trying to sell Villa. Now, when you're trying to sell a co. you dont want to go around sacking Managers etc, so you keep a low profile and get on with the sale. When thats gone thru. The new broom will sweep clean . Lerner save face because he hired the idiot and wouldn't want to say he made a mistake. So everyone wins. Simples |
... Could anyone ever have imagined Heskey over on the right? I mean its laughable! What I woudlnt give now for the scum to have stayed up on the last day of last season. I remember jumping around laughing at the gimps sorry looking face! Never in a million years could I have forseen him showing up at Villa park. Oh God please let me wake up from this nightmare! |
... I will say again i have predicted villa to go down and the scum to replace us and it really does look like it will happen! |
... "I thought the game plan was excellent" What a f**king idiot! He really is a clueless, guttless, thick skinned and patronising moron, who has no right be incharge of a club like Aston Villa. Read the sky sports website write up about McLeishes after match interview and so many neutral fans are agreeing with what we already know! Where is Randy? Where is anybody on our f**king ridiculous board? Why have we not heard anything from them in a while? What can we possibly do to get rid of this man? I just can not see any of the board waking up and swallowing their pride and admitting thast they have made a mistake! Surely Randy and Paul Faulkner are watching the games and listening to McLeishes interviews and thinking 'what the f**k have we done?' They surely must be cringing everytime they see a teamsheet like yesterdays and here ridiculous things like "i thought the game plan was excellent"!!!! Yes, it was excellent for you, you silly idiot, you are getting paid millions of pounds to sit down and watch that horrible excuse for football. McLeish if you are reading this, do the right thing and just leave. You will never be excepted here. I suppose I am asking far to much for you to do the right thing though! Go on, just play Heskey of the left and leave out the 10million pound winger YOU brought in the summer, show the world of football how much of an inept, old fashion, negative and deluded manager you are! Its got to the point of actually being funny now! Me and my mates were actually pissing ourselves when we saw that team yesterday!!! |
... funnily enough the guardian report did not make it into the offical sites review of the press response to the weekends game! |
... good read http://thepremierleagueowl.com/2012/02/13/mcleish-and-lerner-building-something-horrible-at-aston-villa/ |
... maindog good post im with you on that |
... damian how long before a post is put up ? also admin is to look at all my posts ? |
... McL's comments about the team display? Deja Vu. On many occasions I can remember MON saying on MOTD 'I thought my team played some super stuff today' and wondering which match I had been at. |
... Actually i thought how ordinary Man City were, not anywhere near as quick and dangerous as earlier in the season, they have dropped off a bit and got beat recently in the league, so what did we do, treat them like royalty and give them a free win. I would even have Gary Mac back for the rest of the season now at least he's available and got a few wins last backend for us. We are down with this incapable man. |
... ECK in the Mail... McLeish was frustrated Villa’s habit of conceding corners proved costly again against Roberto Mancini’s league leaders. “That is something that has plagued this team for two or three years now and I feel for the boys,” he said. “The first ball we didn’t nip it in the bud and then the second one is the one where we really need to be vigilant What can you say to that? 2 or 3 years its plagued this team? Well, I for one have had enough of the plague that is Alex McLeish. He is slowly or quickly depending on how you look at it destroying our great club with his anti-foofball. Now that Dunne is out that means Carlos & Hoof at the back, does this give Warnock a reprieve or will lijai, baker or Enda be given a shot? According to the BBC gossip we are interested in a 2.5m Rangers LB. Why did we buy Enda? >: |
... Oh well at least the Wolves board has made a decision- McCarthy has gone!!!! |
... McCarthy sacked. At least the Dingles have something to be cheerful for this morning. |
... McLeish insists Villa’s tactics almost paid off, adding: “I thought the players executed the plan really well. We were never going to go gung-ho against City because we just don’t have the players to do that.” Dont have the players... Really? Bent Keane Ireland Zoggy Gardner Albrighton What must the players think after reading such comments? Attack? We dont have the manager to do that! CLOWN |
... Sorry for all this quoting but he really is inept.. From the post... said McLeish... I don’t know |
... Grrr.... I meant to write... don’t know what’s going to happen with the big ‘un. “Whether he’s going to go to hospital I don’t know, I don’t know what they do if it’s dislocated. “I can’t give you an answer just now. I don’t know at this moment exactly what’s happened So thats 4 I dont knows & 1 I cant in one interview. What do you know? |
... So now our 2 best defenders, Dunne and Clark are out for the most vital run of the season, fantastic. Wigan and BBurn are both better sides than us. They both play better football and the most we will get out of those two is 2 points. we have no quality in our side and we have a manager who has no clue how to win. PF said our target was Europe but yet over half was through we are 15TH. So hows that work ?? we better start writing letters to him, showing some stupid quotes AM has said, others that other fans are now starting to say and the ones few months back with Barnes saying you can play that type of footy at the sum, but not at villa. we get worse and worse week by week. AM OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
... if AM gave a s**t about villa, he would walk out because surly by now he knows hes a terrible manager. |
... Mcleish for wolves please he wouldn't have any trouble relegating them |
... So if wolves sack there manager, why aren't we ?? We are suppose to be the much better club but we are in as much s**t as they are |
... Frem, Alex McLeish doesn't give a damn what you or I think. If he did, he would never have taken the job. The bloke has no integrity. He walked out on Blues having relegated them twice in 3 years, having just been given the backing of the board. Instead of repaying that faith he jumped ship. He really must be trying to wind us up with some of his comments. I'm so angry. Angry at McLeish, angry at Faulkner, angry at Lerner. I'm angry at my fellow villans, sitting there like sheep, clapping (yes clapping) McLeish. Where's the passion at villa park? Why is the majority accepting mediocrity? Have they all given up? He is a disgrace to the professional game. |
... Wolves have confirmed that manager Mick McCarthy has been sacked following the club's derby humiliation at the hands of West Bromwich Albion Just read in Sky sports, and the next to go is ??????? |
...... Because our fans are divided. Wolves fans were united in their desire to remove McCarthy. But more importantly it's because Mr Morgan knows a thing or two about football. He can see the inevitable of persevering with a manager that is no longer effective or no longer has the players support. Oh and he can take decisive action. His decision might just keep Wolves in the premier league. |
... I was Right! RIP Mick. We cant sack ECK quite yet cos we would get either Mick or Bruce! We cant say for certain the cloens would appoint one of these 2. Prem expierence they have so fit our criteria... |
... Cannot beleive the muppet was pleased with the performance; if ever parking the bus at home was not acceptable against any team. Why play an attacking midfielder in gardner if he is resticted to defending.Heskey on the wing what a joke!!Says it all playing quellar out of position but ended up being our best player by a country mile.Very rocky times ahead as if we did not know it |
... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myyWXKeBsNk got to show this speech in the dressing room. ( gets more into it half way through) |
... Return of Rowley - well said, don't what is more sickening, the performance, post match comments, or the Muppet fans clapping a manager whose team has not won at home since early November, and are breaking all home records for the wrong reasons. |
...Heskey did put in a shift today but he isn't good enough and he certainly isn't a midfield player. Richie I was trying to say he is better than mutton, I would play him there rather than that lump of lard |
... The clown thinks we have won a game if we draw Everyone's job is to defend we may be as good as he thinks he was then |
... this really is dire. I watched all of the footy this weekend and I think we were the only team not to try and win. AM get real, he said we got punished for one mistake. No we got punished cos' one of the 16 attempts they had went in. The only any team gets anything in this league is to try and out score the opposition. That doesn't mean going "gung oh" What a muppet. Six point needed from the next games any losses and you can start looking at the championship for sure |
... AS for those wanting Enda in the team. I've seen him. He is not good, probably why we signed him, however he might even make Hutton look good. Hutton has to be the worst signing ever, no surprise there then as he was signed by the worst manager we have ever had. AM get out of the Villa NOW NOW NOW |
... Maybe some positive news at last. Apprantly Petrov could be in his last year unless the club decide to take out the 1 year option and extend it to 2013. Now surely that has to be a plus. |
... Amazing, the board at Wolves have the bottle to sack Mick McCarthy but we're left with this muppett! I'd rather we had Mick than AMc! |
... http://thepremierleagueowl.com...on-villa/? This sums up how I'm feeling. In my eyes man city were there for the taking instead our daft manager thinks we were unlucky. The unlucky ones are the fans who sat through that s**te either at home or villa park. |
... "I looked at the Holte End and there was no passion from the Villa fans. They were sitting there in disbelief." Dwight Yorke |
... Perhaps RL has £1m on us to go down @ 16/1 he would get some of his bunce back! Why else would you not sack this muppet? |
... What makes yesterday harder to bear is that Man City were there for the taking IMO, had we have given it a go I think we could have got something from the game. |
...John Barnes Kevin Keegan "I am an Aston Villa fan and it's a matter of concern. It is just not acceptable," Scott Murray, Guardian I am an Aston Villa fan and it's a matter of concern. It is just not acceptable. If you look at the overall performance, it was not good. It was not good on the eye and the match facts show that 65 per cent of possession went to City and 35 per cent went to Villa, who were the home team Can someone please send these quotes to PF and tell him its not just villa fans that know hes s**t. there were a few from other fans as well that might be worth sending |
... just confirms that ireland must start every game. and nzog, as he will improve. each game that passes this month means we lose more of keane - bet he cant wait to leave!!!!! |
... I have never been this angry about football in all my life. AM is a f**king joke, he can't even take responsibility like a man. He is a f**king worm for Christs sake!! This game on the weekend, I have never been so appalled and put off by such obviously pathetic tactics in all my life. AM is inept and utter trash. He hasn't got a winning ambition in his body. I am so mad!!! If this clown doesn't get sacked in the next fortnight I don't even want to know how much angrier I can get. The whole f**king stadium needs to show up, turn their backs on this f**king t**t and leave the stadium empty before the game starts, it is the only way Lerner will even figure we are this f**king pissed off |
... What we all need to do is take this to another level and really approach the media outlets aggressively. For example.... Twitter. Tweet Talksport shows, newspaper jouros, TV shows like Goals on Sunday and MOTD...If they see loads and loads of negative tweets towards McLeish they will start making more of a talking point about it. Next thing is McLeish out banners at Villa Park. Why isnt there many at all? Most of us on here go to most home games and alot of us also go to the away games. Lets really get some balls now and get some MASSIVE banners out there for the TV cameras and Journos. I can understand why the stadium is still getting pretty full, and that is sentiment to us as fans. We want to be there for the players, but the best thing to do is, when you are there, let the manager know what you think!!! Couldnt believe some fans were applauding him. Yeah, well done Alex, thanks for robbing me of £30 and putting me through hell for 90 minutes. Lets get together now and MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!! MCLEISH OUT NOW!!!!!!! |
... Just seen the Skysports interview... we are f**ked... excuses excuses excuses... What a bumbling baffoon... He said everyone is in a relegation battle... and then goes on to blame GG for contributing to the defeat... spineless |
... I've just seen the relegation odds on Sky Bet, West Brom & Swansea are both on longer odds than us to go down. They are both on 8/1 and we are 6/1 to go down!!!! Something needs to be done to turn this around. McLeish is only good at one thing and that is getting teams relegated - Proven fact!! |
... Agreed Droyd, There is a new muppett movie out at the minute, i think it's playing at Villa park. The trouble is with akk this, Man city wwere there for the taking yesterday. |
... See we are being linked with another poor Rangers defender is this our so -called top target for the summer? Get a grip Randy anf follow the lead of the dingles owner, admit you were wrong and get McMuppet out now! |
... Well done Mick , Good man ,straight bloke, apologised yesterday and knew what was coming today. taken the Wolves as far as he could. No apology from the Villa manager , only we were unlucky. i can't stop laughing, even the players must be bored i mean it's not exciting for them either to be told not ever to attack. |
... "I looked at the Holte End and there was no passion from the Villa fans. They were sitting there in disbelief." Dwight Yorke This is the problem, really Dwight should be looking at a half empty holte end but the fans keeps showing up so Randy doesnt bat an eyelid. Nothing will happen as long as the attendance is half decent. |
... Richard Dunne out for 8 weeks! We will see how much we miss him or otherwise now! |
... ALBRI 12 , can't agree more, the dam will crack keep chipping away. Reminds me of the story of the Emperor's new clothes, someone tell mc tavish that it's him that can see a game of football like that. |
... Dunne out for 8 weeks, having a Op today |
... great picture http://t.co/RQH0w8O9 |
... Villa by Birth : should have said: Dear Mr Lerner, please accept my immediate resignation. |
... I was contemplating writing this email directly to Damian, in the hope it would be published, However I am just going to put it as a comment. I’m 29 years old, I have been fanatical, and I mean that in the true sense of the word, about Aston Villa all my life. Now I’m not a rich man, I’m not wealthy at all, I am a singer/song writer and one day I harbour ambitions of being more financially embellished, however as of now I’m a man of simpler means. This is relevant because a single man, of far greater means than could ever dream of, has my first love, Aston Villa in his hands, in my opinion, he does not love it, he does not have any emotional connection, there is no sentiment or affiliation other than his significant inherited wealth, which allowed him to frivolously purchase a ‘plaything’ or perhaps more sinister a vehicle for making more cash, to supplement his already swollen bank account. This man was well received, lorded and paraded as a messiah, a generous, shy even sensitive chap who had our clubs best interests in his heart. This is now and for some time now been proven massively inaccurate. We have a distinct culture at villa park, a culture which is not always understood away from the midlands. We are not moaners or f****e, we are not harbouring delusions of grandeur, we want our club to be successful, and we want it to be ours. This Rich man who has my club in his hands ripped the heart out of the culture of our club, with the appointment of our manager, where he came from is significant to me, however had I thought he was the right man to lead our club into the future, I would have backed him, Alex McLeish is just a name, his previous actions are the important things, his record at building football teams, nurturing youngsters, playing the right brand of football, ability to learn from mistakes, encompass realistic tactical approach to football games, these are the things that we yearn for at our club, amongst others. The way we as villa fans have been treated over the last 18 months is dreadful, the club and owners are so far out of touch with what is wanted by our fans, it actually hurts. Please can we all as a group of fans have a debate on what is the best course of action to allow us to make an impact on the future of OUR club. We need to vote and stick together, we need to decide what action whether it be protests, staying away, boycott games, boycott merchandise, turning our back at games in protest, all writing into the club, each and every one of us, whatever it may be needs to be decided and we all need to unite. Strength in numbers. You can’t blame Alex McLeish for his failings, as he has not got the ability or nous to do/know better, i believe he is doing the very best he can for us, he is just nowhere near good enough. I won’t hide behind my words, I speak from the heart, I am on you tube for my singing, even rehearsing in my villa away shirt, search 1ryanhobbs on youtube that is my channel, support from fellow fans would be nice!! Lol!! I am willing to put my head above the parapet, be shot at, but i will also be right behind and fundamentally involved in any action we decide to take. Damian, i plead with you to back me, lets vote on here on a plan, and lets all get behind it. Strength in numbers, it really will become to late if we stand back and let it crumble, damian, please put something up. Thank you for reading |
... windofchange Hell I would even accept a text - he does that I believe ![]() ![]() |
... Hate to say it but we deserve to go down;prehaps this is the only way for randy to see what a muppet he has imployed as villa manager. We are playing the worse football in prem and thats includes wigan;bolton and blackburn. We are a disgrace from top to bottom and somethink has to give. The money randy loses when we go down will surly make him take drastic action and this cant come quick enough for me.It makes me wonder if jasper carrot is on the board because we are a joke club!! |
... Sam Matterface on TalkSh*te: "McLeish is a really good manager who will come good" he also said that Lerner decided to do something as the wage bill was 115% of turnover as a result of MON's signings hard to argue that changes had to be made as otherwise you are losing money and evetually in a Leeds/Portsmouth situation, but as we all know the choice of manager to guide us through these difficult financial times was wrong. I get the feeling this has nothing to do with Randy's finances if he really needed to put money in I think he would and could but if he is not prepared to he should either bring in a manager who will make better use of the resources at his disposal or sell up to someone who understands the pit falls of owning a Premier League club. |
... Albri-12 send that to paul.faulkner@avfc.co.uk your spot on son |
... What do you say Damian? Ryaninleeds (how do you quote people on this blog grr) has got a point and this blog has enough support to put together a campaign. The issue with the protest organised so far is its a bit amateur - theres enough people on here who could mount something a bit more substantial and thought out than a few people shouting outside the ground. |
... Portsmouth going in administration and unbelievably Glasgow Rangers, football really needs to take a look at itself and take a reality check. |
... Ryan in Leeds, terrific post, very accurate description on how the MAJORITY feel. I highly suggest you post it to other Villa related blogs and sites in order to get some proper backing, you wont get any support here, probably just laughed at. |
... Xandeh, thanks mate, i feel that what damian has been trying to say is that the board/owner/CEO are to blame and that if were gonna do something it needs to be substantial, when he allouded to the protest, he said he wanted it to be thousands. we need to do something, but it needs to be collective |
... the only people that are to blame for the disaster at the villa.is you the gullable fans that still go down and applaud mcleash along the touchline. no wonder he came out beaming like a cheshire cat thats got the cream. the villa fans of old must be turning in their graves. FOR F***! SAKE WAKE UP YOU MODERN FANS! STOP GOING DOWN NOW. IF NOT DO NOT MOAN,CHANT FOR BIG ALEX, YOU HAVE ALL ACCEPTED HIM! |
... ryan in leeds does as frem suggests and send it paul.faulkner@avfc.co.uk you never know it might get through his think skin |
... der that should be do as & thick |
... villa by birth, I will pal, but we must unite, find a plan and all follow, strength in numbers |
...You can’t blame Alex McLeish for his failings, as he has not got the ability or nous to do/know better, i believe he is doing the very best he can for us, he is just nowhere near good enough. That's pretty much spot on Ryan. AM may (or may not) have everything else (the passion, drive ambition, good intentions etc) but it's clear he doesn't have the ability. And that's the fundamental point. Hopefully we'll stay up this season, the club will be taken over by someone with money to spend and a passion for the game and Chelski sack AVB and we have him as a hungry manager wanting to prove he can, under less pressure, be a massive EPL success. Could happen - though the reality probably won't be anywhere near that. I fear AM might still be in post at the start of next season. We'll probably still be in the PL but in a relegation dogfight throughout the whole of 12/13. |
... I think a lot of what Gary Neville said was right! He said we had no attacking threat, questioned why our tactics didn't change when we went a goal down and even suggested some of the players lacked desire! Suppose it sums it up when top of the MoM poll is the man who was ball watching on the goal and should have scored late on!Now I'm a Carlos fan before I get shouted down but how you pick a MoM when we only attacked in the dying minutes of the game and defended poorly is a mystery to me! R.I.P Eamonn Deacey |
... ... Yes RIP Eamonn Deacey. one from the great days and will always be in our hearts! |
... Can every season ticket holder send back scams letter to Remind hm of his proud home record and the myth of attacking football |
... In our championship winning season with only 1 sub our was either Deacey, Ivor Linton or David Geddes and we only used 14 players all season - will never happen again. |
... I don't think it'd hurt one bit if we all started emailing a very similar message to Faulkner/Villa. Nothing too in depth, something like I am " " I am " " years old I have supported Aston Villa for " " years and I am writing to inform you (your own part here) Eg. I will not be visiting Villa Park again this season, etc etc. I await your response eagerly. 'The silent majority' |
...I’m 29 years old, I have been fanatical, and I mean that in the true sense of the word ryan in leeds Word perfect the whole piece I love you more than the Villa for writing that |
... What email I have just sent to Paul Faulkner Have you got the bottle to do what Jez Moxey has done McLeish's letter stated he is no defensive minded and the tag of this for him is incorrect Re watch yesterday's match Out of his depth big style Change now or Championship beckons Can you afford not to ??? |
... If Learners worried about sacking Mcs**t because of the compensation payout then surely there are enough rich, affluent people who are Villa that would become overnight legends if they put up the money to pay off get rid of the inadeqate excuse of a football manager who has become a cancer in football terms Well done the Wolves for not taking bad performances and doing the right thing. The only problem I would have Mick Macarthy as Villa manager instead of what we are suffering at present. UTV - MCLIESH OUT |
... Club will never listen to the fans wishes My worry also is we get rid of Mcleish and hire who ? Randy is not exactly good at picking managers it seems |
... Wolves seem to think Bruce or Curbishly would be better than McCarthy I would guess on that basis they are also better than McLeish suggest we act quickly before its too late otherwise Wolves will be climbing above us as well as the Baggies. |
... ryan from leeds Great sincere comments my fellow villa fanatic.Yor are, without doubt, the most relevant blogger on this site and I reiterate your wish to to create an internet protest led by Damian if he decides to We all know that this present situation is not going to remove its self without some ground swell of support from the rank and file villa family. We need to come out from the apathy that hangs around villa park like a thick smog. We need to try and I MEAN TRY to get our club back. We have limitations but, more than anything our love for Aston Villa Football Club should galvanise us to force change. Its now up to all of us, but we need a leader to start the process of forcing this issue. Any takers ? PS - Remember how O,Leary was removed because of Villa fans comdentation of his actions against our club.It happened then, it could happen now. Up the Villa |
... I can not for one second understand how you good honesty folk would chuck your hard cash at watching this dross week in week out, if and I feel sorry for the season ticket buyers who have already splashed out were to stay away then surely Lerner would have to do something, but whilst you keep turning up Lerner will think everything's rosy. I miss coming to Villa Park because there's not a buzz like it, but I'm no fool and I won't be chucking my cash at Randy Lerner until things improve drastically and things won't improve under this Manager now or for the foreseeable future. |
... why villa will get relegated. Blackburn have an inform player (Yakubu) who will do what Darren Bent did for us last season and help keep them up. Wolves will have new manager syndrome which will get them 15 points in there next 10 games. Wigan have been there, done that. They have a manager and players who know how to avoid relegation. QPR need a few games for there new players to gel, then they will finish atleast 12th. Bolton are just as f**ked as we are. Us, Bolton and one other team to get relegated. No longer an ever present in the Premiership, and we wont bounce straight back. Sad times. |
... Stiliyan Petrov in the heart of Villa’s midfield is in the top ten players for total ground covered this season – with 142.5 miles. not bad for a player whos legs have gone lol. |
... Villa86, he covers a lot of ground Ill give him that, it's just a shame that it's usually 3 or 4 seconds after the play has moved on. |
... After yesterday there can't be many (if any!) supporters left who seriously believe that McUseless should keep his job. However, I personally have reached a point where I believe that it wouldn't make a great deal of difference to how things are going if the manager got the bullet tomorrow. McCleish is a symptom, not the disease. What's killing the club is the absolute incompetence and utter ineptitude of the club's owner, and the man he has charged with the running of the club, his sycophant Faulkner. Five years ago there seemed so much promise; now the club seems to be sinking amid a climate of failure and mismanagement. There's no vision articulated for the club, and no drive or ambition apparent. We are the proverbial rudderless ship, and I believe that we're in freefall. The clueless Lerner and his clueless acolytes are slowly choking the life out of our club. It's a shambles and a mess, and goodness only knows how we get out of it now. I really do fear for the future! |

... we cant even put anti AM banners up, its a disgrace. AM and Randy out !!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
... it really is worrying, if only half this news is true then Villa have troubles from head to toe, and can only head in one direction, beginning to feel like there is no hope, even under Houllier, there was always the belief we would get better and he would buy and sell well. I do not have the same faith in McCLEISH! DARK DAYS!! |
... how about bringing back big fat ron atkinson untill the end of the season.at least he will boost the attmesphere back to whatch it should be. by the way you away fans.stop singing,we!re by far the greatist team the worlds ever seen it is embarrising. |
... Next 4 games are very important. McLeish needs to be sacked at end of season regardless of what happens. Never was good enough and proved to be. Truly awful appointment , terrible management by him , seems delusional and has actually fans of other clubs taking pity on us. Shouldn't be managing in Premiership let alone us. Urge other fans to not buy into this steadying the ship crap either - to be 15th in Feb only winning 6 in games is not steadying any kind of ship. that is abysmal. Definitely needs to go. |
...Portsmouth going in administration and unbelievably Glasgow Rangers, football really needs to take a look at itself and take a reality check. Agree with this. We talk about "Dark Days", but we are still in business! Somethng really wrong with the game if Rangers are broke - who next? Saw a piece in the 'paper about L'pool worried that their shirt sponsor may walk out after all the racism row etc. It is all so much about big money, and we depend on the 100% owner completely. We dont really know much about him and it rather worrying, at least with old "Deadly" you sort of knew where we stood. |
... This p***k couldn't even win the two club race in Scotland...words fail me as to how our club is going...15th... Tell you what alex,do me a favour and go out for Dinner in Birmingham....see if you have the guts to do that you useless t**t |
... If were not going to unite as 1 to get this idiot out! Then it's over, might as well just give up! N accept that this smug, deluded punk ain't going anywhere, kiss goodbye to all our hopes, dreams, status, be prepared 4 years ov doom, doom, n more doom, |
... The thing is if we n the whole country can c how s**te we r, then surly the players can to, which leads me to think that either. 1) the players r to scared to say something to him or 2) the players ( senior ) don't say anything because under this punk they got things cushy they just don't want to rock the boat |
... Villa Park used to absolutely boom,it's become a place we go because we have to,we dont go there anymore with high expectations because those days are gone,at least for the moment. We are in a bad way and i think teams below us who are percieved as weaker will show greater heart and send this famous club down. They will show more fight because they believe in their manager...and the whole world knows that our manager is just about as bad as it gets... |
... Agreed, the players have obviously been warned not to LOSE the ball, instead of win the game. It is clear that bathe players first thought is defensive, backwards. Poor old Albrighton looks lost, I remember when he terrified the half backs, now it's clear that he has been told to make sure he defends and not to lose the ball. It is clear that Randy Lerner has lost the plot. We all new Mcleish's style of play, it took Birmignham down. Thank goodness the bottom 4 teams really suck this year, otherwise we would really be in trouble. That said, we better get some points quickly because our schedule includes tough games against the top teams... |
