Bristol Rovers 1 Aston Villa Academy 3: Not the best game but a win

Goals from Marc Albrighton, Gabby Agbonlahor and Ciaran Clark won this game. I'd like to be able to write that it was the football, but it wasn't, but you can't get it all.

Still, the only thing that actually matters is that we won and our name is in the hat and while we were always going to win, there was a very slim chance we could be the upset.

But I do have something to say and it's just that it was nice to see five players from the Academy finish the match tonight.

If you are a regular reader you will know my views on playing our own players and today, even though the opposition were not a real threat, it was still nice to see Gardner, Albrighton, Bannan, Clark and Gabby finish the match.

The annoying things from today were the sloppy goal given away from a very dodgy back pass from Dunne, direct to one of their players, who lobbed Guzan and the penalty with a minute of added time to go, even though Guzan saved it.

So, I leave you now with our name in the hat. No man of the match vote today as I'm only doing that this season for the Premier League, but if you had to pick one, who would you pick?
