The new Aston Villa kit for the new season has now been launched and you can see it below and probably order it from Kitbag here. If you order though, you should be aware that you won't get it until next month, but you will be one of the first to get it.
Now, the shirt is a shirt and well, it's nice, but it is only a shirt. We should however be very happy we haven't ended up with what West Ham have ended up with this season although I should also say I really do quite like what Burnley have come up with and I'd probably sway what we have done for that, but it's a nice shirt, but still it's just a shirt.
As you can probably tell, I've not got much to say on the shirt, but seeing as we are talking about the shirt and because the club site/media department don't get much praise from me, I should take this opportunity to offer up a little.
The Bullring to Bullring blog and videos on the club site have been surprisingly good and it is nice to see that they are trying new things. It would be nicer if they continued the video blogging and a few other new things during the season and even nicer if they moved away from the Premium TV platform, but I'll take the small steps for now.
Anyway, the new kit is below and like I said, you can probably pre-order from Kitbag here.
New Aston Villa kit for 2009/10 - Short Sleeve

... Friedel looks like he'll be well camouflaged against the pitch. Perhaps he'll just lie down on the grass and wait for them to shoot (thinking it's an open goal) and then whoosh! he pops up and grabs the ball to everyone's suprise. Following that thought... what if they all wore green?! They could pass it around and it would look to the opposition like they were playing against an invisible team and (not that you'd need a further advantage) they could hang out offside all they liked. If there's anyone reading from the kit designing team - feel free to take this idea for next year. Love you all - you doubters and moaners - you optimists and believers - frustrated and anxious - eager as beavers - for the new season to start - and what will unfold - maybe the greatest Villa story - ever to be told. |

... The problem is with the colours and the tradition of the shirt that Villa have, its difficult for the sportswear companies to come up with designs that both look modern, historical and smart at the same time. The away kit allows you to do that, but Villa's home strip has never really changed apart from the few years we had with stripes (which IIRC most people were glad to do away with). |

... Where this "tight manager" rubbish comes from I'll never know. Do people seriously think MON would hold back on the dough? MON works under certain constraints and as such has to be careful. What happens if MON signs a player for £20 mill and he turns out to be total rubbish? The same people calling for these players would be the first to moan, saying "what a waste of money". He just won't make that sort of mistake and rightly so imo. Typical example? Pavlyuchenko. Cost £13 mill and reportedly offered to Arsenal for £6 mill. PMSL Even Zat Knight (who's regularly slated on here for being rubbish) is rumoured to be going to Bolton for a nice little profit. |

... kohoutek, home now and name still not working properly said: What part is nonsensical? You're the one who said you're pissed off because your kids are going to want it all the same. The point is that is no one has to buy the kit. That sounds rather sensible, if not downright factual, and is something with which you apparently agree. Oh dear...do we still not undestand Kohoutek...I do beg my pardon but I will for the last time explain to you what I mean in Idiot`s terms. Villa fans look forward to the seasons new kit. A lot of Villa fans do want to buy the new kit, as do their children. Villa fans see kit is very similiar to last seasons and are disappointed. You say well you dont have to buy it then. Nobodies forcing you to buy it. You sound very sinical, and with your viewpoint there is no reason for a debate. Are you the kit designer in disguise Kohoutekand upset because people dont like your kit little man. It is not a point of having to buy the kit or not, like you said before we aren`t being forced, but it`s the simple fact that you are even basing your argument on this that I´m worried. We can carry on forever but there is no denying that your a bit of a w****r really, who is just on here to piss people off. Now that you stand corrected I suggest you xxxx off. |
