Well, I don't know about anyone else but I'm still in a bad, but very good way, if you know what I mean. I also have a feeling that people know there is something different about me today. I'm walking a little taller and I think people know, just by looking at me, something has happened.
You know, I was thinking about something today, about Aston Villa, but specifically the people. Since I've supported the club, I've lost count of the number of players that have played for us and my favourites of the time. I've not lost count of the managers or owners, but they are just as transitional. It isn't about players or managers or owners, it is about Aston Villa and what that club represents to each of us.
I'm not going to go into detail on what I was thinking or the conclusion that I arrived at, because as some of you know, my thought process and my rational can be quite emotional and what supporting the club means to each of us, I am sure is very unique. Needless to say, I woke up with a smile this morning, I still have it and I'm sure it is going to last for well over a month and maybe a lot longer.
But, this post isn't about that, it is about Kris Boyd, who apparently met Martin O'Neill last night and the competition winners for the Arsenal match at Villa Park on January 27th.
Boyd was apparently given the VIP treatment last night and if ever there was a performance to convince a player to join a team, last night was it. If the story is true, I would expect him to sign any day and in plenty of time for a final. You can debate the 'will he be able to make the step up' if you like, with this particular player, I will wait to see what happens on the pitch.
So, before I go; the competition winners - you should have both received an email by now, but in case you haven't, your names are Dan Jones and Adey Stuttard. If you haven't got the emails, I need you to email me your postal address and a contact telephone number - preferably a mobile.
I am off to watch the match again and I might take in an afternoon pint, just to see if it helps. I suspect it will.

... Just want to comment on Milner. On the previous thread some one said he will be better than Fabregas. Milner is a great player, he is a supreme athlete and has a great shot on him. He has been brilliant since he came into the center for us and has chipped in with a few vital goals. He has also come up with some great assists finding a striker with a trough ball. Lets not get carried away though as good and as vital as he is for us he is not in the same league as Fabregas. He can never be either because he just doesn't possess the God given talent. Milner's weakness is his close control which lets him down in attacking areas of the pitch. This is what seperates the great players from the God's that are Fabregas, Iniesta, Xavi and Messi. Don't get me wrong though Milner is still a class act. |

... Little Brad's performance wasn't all that bad in the end. The 2 goals we conceded late on were more because we switched off all over the pitch being so far in front. Ollsens goal was unsavable imo, great finish. The only one he was really to blame for was the first one which unsettled us. He needs to be more commanding in the box for crosses, but he isn't the tallest as far as GK's go. He's a talker which is good and a fantastic shot stopper, he just needs to improve his play on set pieces; Something which eluded James for years until he played for us. He is only 24 and that is nothing for a keeper, he'll probably play until he's 36+. Nelsen was all over Guzan constantly and I wonder if he's ever had to play with that before. I'm glad it happened now so he has time to work on it over the next few weeks. A good performance in goal at the weekend will do wonders for him. |

MON's 'sell to buy' might be a warning to us that Big John might be off. You don't neeed to be mystic meg to guess that something is wrong in the relationship. He is a Mon type player, a predator which we need and Mon will point out that his other Scottish League imports came good -after a period of adjustment. |

This transfer isn't for this window by the way its for the summer if its true. Surely in the summer we would be looking for better options then Boyd plus if Nathen Delfouneso is only being lined up as a bit part player again next season then he really doesn't have much of a future under MON? |

He chooses so carefully who he buys not to upset the dressing room and yes i would love all the wonderful players in the world but not if it was to affect our team spirit. well done villa cant speak i sang so much last nite, oh well was worth it. |

... Villa Nick It was good enough because we won the game. Likewise I couldn't believe he got criticism in the last leg as he kept a clean sheet. He is a young and upcoming keeper with a lot to learn. Give him a break. Little Brad had an iffy game at Ewood, but he ultimately kept a clean sheet and he flapped at two corners and was responsible for ONE of their goalslast night. The only reason anyone cares is because that useless pundit Mark Bright didn't have anything else to say and kept banging on about it because he's a twit. Scott Carson is not at our club because he makes a consistent habit of making blunders like that and I saw him make another one to gift Newcastle the equaliser through Lovenkrands in the Championship game the other night and cost Brom 2 points.. If Carson is making blunders like that in the Championship and little Brad is being picked as USA's No.2 ahead of Hahneman and Friedel and is on his way to a Wembley Final weith a prem club I think that says it all. People always remember the bad things, never mind the fact that he saved four penalties against Sunderland and survived one on ones with both Reid and Bent. He was in goal during the peace cup and was awesome and the guy is only 24!!!! He'll probably play for another 12 or 14 years. Keeper is a position that needs a lot of experience and composure and in time he'll have it, but only by playing difficult and important games like this. |

... Boyd is 26 and a poacher. He offers something we don't have and he is relatively young. If he signs a pre-contract to come in the summer Carew will be sold. Delfouneso will play mor next year and we will have four strikers all with very different attributes. Boyd is a clinical finisher with an awesome knack of being in the right place at the right time. Heskey makes space and generally proves a nightmare for CB's as well as chipping in with a few goals a season. (I still have a bet on that he'll get ten in all comps this season). Gabby is lightning quick, consistently notches 10-15 a season and could get better. He is excellent as an outlet playing alone up front or in a 4-4-2 Delfouneso, although I haven't seen much of him looks like a very clever player. Good with the ball at his feet he also has a turn of pace and tremendous shooting accuracy. Proficient in the air and able to pick a pass, this lad has already broken every scoring record set by Gabby in the academy and looks ready to start doing the same in the first team. I have been on about getting rid of Carew for a long time. Too lazy and we already have a target man who is the real deal. If MoN believes Boyd can score goals in this league big John will be off. |

...Delfouneso will play mor next year and we will have four strikers all with very different attributes As per usual i disagree. From the glimpes of Delfouneso he seems to be a bit of goal paocher(in fact he is possibly a carbon copy of Boyd with a better work rate). I wasn't overly impressed with his skill on the ball(but i don't think that is his game anyway) and that is where having a strike force option from Delfouneso, Gabby, Boyd and Heskey would just not offer enough options. None are that talented at linking up the play and being creative. None are really that gifted with the ball at their feet and think it would only push us futher down the uncreative road we seem to on this summer. I just couldn't see how bringing one of the above on in a game where we are struggling to create anything would make any difference from the player he would replace. I think we need to start looking at bringing in more complete players then what we have at the club right now. Instead of a player who is good at one aspect of the game and really average at the rest we need to start looking at players who are more complete. |

The guy doesnt run a lot, but honestly Villa dont need another guy who does, they already have a bunch of gazelles out there. They need a guy who just buries the ball when he gets it. Thats Boyd, a true blue cherrypicker and a sniper. He would link up well with Ashley Young, Gabby and Milner in the attacking third. I hope they pull the trigger on this. If they got him now it wouldnt cost much...probably could be funded by the selling of Gardener even... |

And to give a young Keeper a hard time because he flapped twice in the biggest game of his career so far is a little harsh. Let him work on it, see what he can do and let him learn form his mistakes. There is no denying he has the talent to be a top top keeper for many years to come. He was targeted last night and he got done for the first goal, but he saved the second and there was no one following up to clear it. Watcvh the replay, Dunne just stands there with his hands on his nuts. The third was unsaveable and the fourth came through a seas of bodies an he got unsighted and inadvertantly nutmegged. Not a great performance, but not droppable. The defence were as much to blame as anyone else and I think Cuellar was suspect at RB and Collins looked a little rusty. Rather than drop Guzan i'd move Cuellar to CB and play luke young. Much more solid. |

The fact is, it's rare for keepers to do well until they're in their late 20's. Obviously there's some exceptions. It's how they overcome these down turns in form that will be the test. Joe Hart Rob Green Ben Foster Chris Kirkland Wayne Hennesey Paul Robinson Tim Howard To name a few! How many of those have you thought "Christ, he's a dodgy keeper!". All of those are either looking really good at the moment or are on their way back to the top, all after some really dodgy displays. I've got complete faith in lil Brad, we've seen the amazing from him, and now what he needs to work on. It'll be more of a test for MON whether he picks him for the final, I think he should. |

I see what he brings to the team and he does a decent job at linking up. But there is more to linking then just holding it up and playing the simple pass. How about a link up striker who can also do what Heskey does but can also take a player on and beat them and also spot the killer ball when it is on and give it at the right time. There are players out there that can do that and im not talking about world stars who are ungettable im talking about players like Tuncay, Joanovic( just for you JPA ), Gudjohnson etc. City have Bellamy who does this job, Utd have Rooney, Arsenal have Van Persie, Chelsea have Anelka, Spurs have Keane. Who do we have in an striking option who is really gifted on the ball? Thats the missing link for me right now. |

...JPA lets just say we sign Boyd next summer. Who do you pick up front? Who's our starting fromt 2? You might think me odd, but I'll go for whoever is playing the best at the time. Heskey had to play his way into this side and is now awesome. Fonz is knocking on the door and Gabby hasn't scored for a few so competiton for him is good too. A top club needs a choice of four strikers and the more options ability wise between those four the better. Europa qual. will mean more games next season and there will be plenty of games for everyone hopefully. Damian, I agree. He needs time and experience but has all the signs of being a very good keeper in time. I fancy Friedel will play one more season after this and then start fading. That will be lil Brad's chance. |

... ron, I remember Taggart replacing Jim Leighton for Les Sealey for a cup final years ago. Although it worked, I don't want the same to happen to Little Brad. I was praying for the Fonz to come on second half for Gabby. Heskey was inspired, as was the brilliant Warnock, who I rate as our best purchase this season. Really wanted us to score in to double figures and see a giant sized middle finger forced squarely in to Fat Pig jowelled Sam's face. What a sore loser. The best team won, unlike a few years ago, when Bolton clung on by the skin of their teeth playing the most dull and uninspired football I have ever seen. f**k off Allardyce you pathetic whingeing p***k. I think little Brad showed a bit of naivety, but still made some good saves. He played a little bit like Hilarious Gomes for Spuds at the start of the season. Just hope this was one poor day in the office. Wembley - Can you believe it? Thank you MON. |

...Thats not an answer. Yes it is Bringing him as soon as his contract expires means he'll have a full pre season. Heskey will more than likely have played in the world cup and Gabby might go too so they may get extended breaks in the summer. Boyd and Fonz will more than likely train together a lot and might hit it off. We know Heskey and Gabby works as a partnership and are our first choice pair at the moment. If Carew goes then Fonz and Boyd will both be trying to establish themselves. MoN will make an informed decision based on fitness and performances in training. Simple, how else would he decide? If whoever he picks plays badly then he changes it up next game. If they play well then the others have to wait for their chance through injury or suspension. It'll be the same as this year, we will just have Boyd instead of Carew. No big deal. |

... On the Boyd thing. My mate is a big Rangers fan and says he has improved immensley this year. Not as selfish as he once was and they don't want him to leave. In fact he has been offered a new contract by Rangers but the bank running their finances have blocked it, so the club released it in the press to put pressure on the bank. He is a Rangers fan and supposedly wants to stay. So i think he might be using us as a bargaining tool to get the bank to authorise the new contract. If it is, it won't be the first time a player has done something like this. My mate heard last night he was going to the game but he didn't want to go to Villa. |

My main issue with this signing is that it doesn't address a huge issue i see which is a lack of a creative force up front. If we could get one who would be on the same wave lenght as Milner then we would improve so much as a team and we wouldn't be as predictable as we are right now. WE would then have that danger from the centre of the park also. The only way i would be any bit ok with the signing of Boyd would be if another striker in the mould of Tuncay for eg was brought in also. I just don't see how Boyd and say Gabby would be able to combine that well and the same goes for Delfouneso. I really would be disgusted if Boyd was our only striker brought in next summer. |

... ak, I see what you mean. However..... You have already admitted that you weren't thrilled with the signing of Collins and you also had no idea Milner could play inside. I trust MoN in the transfer market and I believe Kris BOyd could be exactly the sort of ruthless, arrogant, poaching little sod that PL defenders could learn to hate. As for playing with someone I actually think he'd work very very well paired with someone like Gabby. If Gabby didn't have to carry the goalscoring mantle all by himself someone like Boyd could easily feed off the industry of Gabby and get a fair few goals alongside him. I think he would do ok alongside Heskey, I think anyone with good positional sense and an eye for goal would. Fonz is still an unknown quantity, but playing with someone while he is still young will help him hone his game and working with Boyd might improve areas of his game that aren't necessarily strong points for the other three. Describing Boyd, Gabby and Fonz as the same sort of player is a bit general. They all offer different things and other than all being Strikers they are actually quite different.. Mon hasn't really let us down yet and this is a player he knows a lot about. Just because he is cheap does not mean he isn't decent, it's just Rangers financial plight and his contract situation that's causing this sale. I really don't agree that we struggle to create as much as you. We just don't convert our chances when we get them. Last night was perfect for us as Blackburn were chasing the game, but in a game like West Ham last week we could have done with someone clinical. |

... I think we may have seen a few of the kids get a run out last night if the defense had not imploded again in the second half. If Blackburn had only got two then I imagine The Fonz would have come on for Heskey and perhaps Albrighton for Downing or Delph for Milner. As it was, MON stuck with experience over youth in a pressure game. Though I still dont understand what he sees in Sidwell. I would have been interested to see what he would have done had Heskey or Gabby picked up a knock early on. Sidwell or The Fonz, that would have been a real test of his confidence in his bench. Moving on to saturday; 442, with Gabby and The Fonz up top. Think it could do Gabby the world of good to score a few. He overall game was good last night, he is just lacking a bit of confidence. A brace on sat could be just what the doctor ordered. AK I agree we need a player to do more, but they come at a premium price. Does the fact we are discussing a pre-contract with Kris Boyd not give you an insight into how much money is in the pot. Lerner said it would be a year of more modest investment in the summer and I'm guessing with the fact we spent 40 mil (OK 12 of it from GB) MON blew his budget and any contingency for the Jan window then. Why? Because he hates the Jan window and probably knew that with what he had left after sorting out the defense; which it must be said was the priority considering a) how many goals we scored last year and b) how many goals we shipped, he did not have enough to buy a big name/ highly rated / massive wage packet player. ( A player on 90k per week over 4 years would cost the club roughly 20 million in wages, not including any transfer fee) Not to mention the knock on effect this has in any contract re-negotiations for other players. Nevertheless, If Gabby could get his eye back in then I think he could net another 10-15 before the seasons out. Think about it, If he had more service coming through the middle (like the ball from which he got the penalty, missed the dink over the keeper or missed the chance against West Ham) at the start of the season he could have 25 already. Heskey & Milner together help create that slotted ball for a pace-man to run onto, without the necessity of sitting on our own 18 yard line and breaking. He has brutal acceleration, so a short ball in behind, like the one for Heskey's goal last night would suit him, he has just never had that kind of service. Lets face it Barry was never a line breaker was he? Heskey has scored 4 this season, which translates as 1 goal ever 3.5 games. If he gets near 10 I would say with everything else he brings to the table he is worth his place until such time as we are in a position to replace him. |

... Been too busy to read or comment recently so forgive me if some of the comments nelow have been done to death: - Ak, on Fonz, I have seen quite a lot of him as I go to reserve and youth games when I can and he is the complete CF, ie poacher, decent pace, good on the ball, good in the air, strong clever with a good pass. Don't mistake complete with necessarily being good enough to really make it in PL, I hope he is but still to be proven. He is however an all rounder with no real weaknesses - Guzan was poor with crosses in both legs in my opinion, flapped and looked really hyper active. Very good shot stopper but I can see why Big Brad still number one at mo, he has been much better this year than last imo - Heskey at times looked brilliant, I was shocked. Some very clever link up play on the deck and even a goal. Still no where near prolific enough though - Milner looking like he might be the real deal now with some great touches, scoring with his left from distance and great pen - Really disappointed with Carlos at RB in 1st half but looked great in 2nd half even going forward, what a change around - We got dominated in midfield in 1st half, wingers too wide, out numbered - For all our continued shortcomings we look like we can pass the ball well now and retain in tight positions a real plus - Collins was really disappointing for me at West Ham, got done for pace big time several times by the 18 year old upfront (Nouble?) - Our defence generally recently hasn't looked it's awesome self, not sure why? - No subs again last night? - Should play some kids v Brighton, we are in a cup final now so should be more able to risk the kids although I would back our reserves to beat Brighton anyway (but romance of the cup etc) - I would rest Ash, Milner, Petrov, Dunne and Gabs - bring in Marky Marc, Fonz, Coker, Clark and Delph -Up -the -villa -Wemberlee |

... I remember now there was one sub, Sidwell, shows the impact he made. I can only remember him losing the ball going down and getting a questionable free kick just as the pessimist in me was thinking surely we can't give this up now. Also forgot to mention while still not his old self and lacking in confidence Ash is beginning to show some good signs again over the last few games. As well as the great goal he beat his man several times against West Ham, on outside and cutting in, I think he is about to burst back in to form Blackburn are suprisingly dangerous going forward and good on ball in patches. I'm sure Big Sam will soon grind that out of them, they remain very physical and were on the edge of legality a lot of the time last night. That Big Sam complained about Gabs fouling Nelson last night was a joke as they kicked us up every chance they got. Also, Shearer, the dirtiest bastard ever to play up front in England (probably) was calling it a foul which was hypocritical to say the least considering his record Big Sam, what a comedian, we scored 10 goals and somehow it was nudge in the box that won it for us. ... What a night last nite. Wish I had put a bet on my prediction, was nearly right: Blackburn will have us under the cosch until we break, and they get a man sent off giving us a penalty, which we'll score. I dont think anybody could have predicted Heskey scoring, but on that I'd like to add. I'm not his biggest fan, but he played in the second half, well he started after about 35 minutes, and what a difference he made. When he did wake up I don't think he lost the ball once, absolutely superb, he deserved his shirt last nite. Young certainly had a sparkle last nite he seemed a bit more fearless, he was more confident on the ball and just seemed to relax. And that goal was everything he's great for, doing the simple thing so well, would be nice to see a return to form. Hell, if Downing starts scoring we'll have a 20 a season Midfield without increasing the wage bill or buying anymore shit forwards. When will you lot realise that its about the team, individuals dont work (has anybody seen Liverpool this season?). MON has been trialling and erroring, and granted his errors are expensive, but his suceess' will be a greater asset financially in the long run. I know where it comes from and I feel the same, we've had so many disapointing managers, I dont think we've had that good a strike force since the days of Taylor and Atkinson, or 13 years ago, however you wanna look at it. And those disapointing managers have led us to believe we know more than they do, I dont think thats the case anymore. After my failed betting success from last nite (as i didnt bet on it ), I'm gonna put a tenner on our Midfield producing 30 goals in cup and league before the end of the season, I suggest you all do the same. |

... Rios.Jockstrap i accept that the way the club are going to sell the tickets is fair. they get given a set number and sell based on a system - so the immediate benefit to you, as a season ticket holder is that you get a ticket if you want it, because our season ticket number is lower than the allocation the thing about the large number of tickets not going to aston villa or the other finalist; well, that it is a large number but it is also no surprise - it isn't as if they have just sprung it on us but you cant say they have no right to have one. the league cup takes a lot of people a lot of time to deliver, it requires a number of companies to sponsor it and help and their reward for doing so is an allocation of tickets would i like it to be 40,000 villa fans and 40,00 other teams fans and only 10,000 neutral - ofcourse, but like i said, this isn't a surprise and unfortunately, just something we have to live with - but, as a season ticket holder - you have a ticket - thousands upon thousands that want wont get so ou are just one of the lucky ones |

I haven't been this season and wouldn't dream of trying to get a ticket in front of another fan who's been to a few games, as much as I'd love to go. And tbh, the ammount of people who have come on here asking how to get them, when I suspect they've hardly been, I've found quite galling. Of course, that's not aimed at long distance fans. As for the allocation, it's a disgrace as most of the neutral tickets will end up getting sold on at massive profit. The FA or whoever could stop this easily if they wanted to and it just shows how much they care. It ought to be a 50-50 split and stuff the sponsors, with any not wanted (highly unlikely) then handed out to neutrals, imo. |

You should never leave early through disgust. A minor shove on the excellent Ryan Nelson, Emile would hve been totally tumbled Fantastic fightback. Thought Keegan had been coaching As in, we will score more than you. We have a fantastic " team ". James Milner is superb. 81% pass success rate. Carlos had most passes Carlos benefited most from extra man, big Sam mustn't have thought he was a threat. Their goals meant nothing. Last two a tad lucky. Guzan v nervous Off topic, Luke wanted by hammers ? No Way Get the young ones on tomorrow, MON will motivate them. We all agreed on wed, Winning the cup at Wembley is better than top 4 for the soul. |

... How can people who haven't been to a game all season expect to get a ticket? It ain't gonna happen and you don't deserve one even if you live miles away. When I had a season ticket I got Final tickets, now I don't I'm not expecting one even though I've been to a fair few games this season That's just the way it is |

... Dont be silly I deserve one more so than some corporates who's seats will be empty after HT as they haven;t come back out! Anyway its not a matter of who does or doesn;t deserve it. Its a simple matter of supply/demand. And there isn't enough seats. If a smaller club, that hadn't been starved of any success for so long got to Wembley it wouldn't be such an issue but with Villa (and I suspect City) it is an issue. I'm gonna facebook/twitter and generally put the word out for tickets, hopefully I might be able to find an Army ticket or a corporate ticket that someone dont want. If Villa do have a very small number to sell then I'll just have to fight it out for those. If all else fails I'll get myself a fake stewards outfit and ID, and sneak in that way. |

... I'm with PMR. I'm at boarding school down in hampshire and this season there genuinely haven't been any matchs I've been able to get to, the only ones are the sunday late kick-offs and the ones during the holiday. We never understood the whole, ST->BH->GS progression so after trying to book in advance [which I have to do] and being unable to get tickets we gave up. I wish I'd known it did that so we could have got some during the winter. See this is the first season I've been ninvolved in trying to find them, the last one it was just dad and before that I didn't think it worth the effort [I'm the only real villa fan in me house, the others are spuds and 1/2 leeds 1/2 villa]. For me, getting to Wembley is a hell of a lot easier than getting to VP and this would be a great first Villa match of the season but I have no chance of getting a ticket for obvious reasons. I have a friend that's a Wembley season ticket holder. I've been begging him now since early december and maybe it will pay off. Otherwise its ebay or the tele. I wish I could get there |

... fuk it. I DO DESERVE A TICKET. I've been a long suffering Villa fan along with the rest of you. If you live outside of Birmingham area, especially the London area and you support Villa you get a lot of stick. I've had to put up with all sort of sh!t from my mates for 20 YEARS, but I'm a villa fan and theres no changing that. I've spent a LOT of money with the club, I even have a frigging stone with my name on it outside the ground. I haven't been to game this season, (not that I didn't want to.) But I have been to LOTS of matches over the years. You can think what you want but- I BELIEVE I DO DESERVE A TICKET. Hallelujah! Holy shit! |

... It pisses me off a little that as a season ticket holder i can only buy one ticket, the issue i have is the mrs who has been to 6 games this year, cant buy a ticket at the same time as me, which means that we wont get tickets sitting next to each other, which is bloody anoying. Also i heard, pretty much in the wind that we have offered van nistelrooy ~ 70,000 a weak, top end of our wage structure. Apparantly hoping he will chose villa over a host of other clubs (blues, west ham who have both offered over 100,000) based on footballing reasons and not the money. As i said heard from a source who is about as reliable as the wind, is an everton fan, but did say we had ppl at west ham looking at their defensive set up, (everyone thought it was upson). By the By i think he will move for money not football anyway so thats us out the window. think he would do a decent job for us. (Apparantly Arsenal have done essentialy the same as us, offering a 1 year contract at ~75000) So that renders essentially all of what i wrote above pointless as he will move for the money or to arsenal. |

... if you wanted a ticket and you dont have a season ticket you should of gone to the other cup games, it really gets on my nerves all the people jumping on the bandwagon when we get in a cup final. im not saying anyone on here is a glory hunter but there a lot of people who have suddenly appeared from nowhere demanding tickets. ive had about 10 people asking me to get them a ticket and tbf you really dont deserve one. i think the amount of neutral tickets is silly but dont forget these are the people that fund this competition from happening. Good luck trying to get one guys UTV! |

... you go girl. ha ha. If we can't get them then we can "put out feet up in the afternoon, before coming on here and other sites having a moan." [comment 106, and btw it's a sunday] after the match k, because obviously spending money on shirts, scarves, ties etc... and stones??... is very different to spending on tickets for matches we can't get to and as such we're not proper fans. |

One more thing, sorry to come across so bitchy, I just hate the fact I probably won't get to go :[, gonzo, it's not so much jumping on the bandwagon, I've watched every match I could, even just on streams or tv and I've been doing everything I can do be the best possible distance fan. Hell, I wore my villa socks, tie and scarf into college way before we were in the final... |

... Never been to Wembley... Is there a certain area where the main fans will sit...a bit like the Holte end of Wembley? Don't want to end up in the 'Trinisty Road' stand! Also, will we be able to go on coaches from Villa? Don't fancy driving there or going on the train. Plus, it will be like a party on the coach! |

... I would love a season ticket but I live in London and neither have the time or the money to get to all the games, so i do what i can , and go to London games + occasionally VP. I dont think this makes me 'Less Of A Fan' you just do what you can. Anyway I reckon if people hold out until afew days before there may be some cheap Tix on ebay etc.. If not , I live 2 stops from Wembley and will go to a pub near the ground (Pity its such a *hithole round there ) but there you go |

... villarobin Nobody has said you are a less of a fan, what we are saying is that a season ticket holder deserves his cup final ticket more than someone without one. Someone who has been to 10 matches deserves a cup final ticket more than someone who has been to 1 or 2. That is the fairest way a club can allocate tickets. Chris You dont get to choose where you sit, just pick the price of ticket you want and get what you are sent in post. |

... seems we will get the west side of the stadium. The problem with Wemberlee is they have a Wembley season ticket scheme - it gives them a load of upfront cash for the stadium, but as you can guess it's a tout's charter. loads of people bought those season tickets just so they could tout any Cup final tickets on ebay first chance they got. |

... By the way, does this now mean we are more or less guarenteed Europa Football next season. I mean even if we lose the final it will be to a team that more than likely will qualify for Europe through there league position, so I assume it goes to the runner up then, right? |

... I have got a season ticket thank god! I didn't have 1 in 96 when we played Leeds, but my cousin worked for Ladbrookes at that time and they received some tickets for their staff (obviously not ALL their staff) and i bought 1 through my cousin. Although Ladbrookes is NOT the official bookmaker this season at Villa park, but there are plenty of companies who work at Villa park. Alternatively, my cousin is in the army and in 94 my grandad wrote to Doug explaining his grandson couldn't get a ticket as he was in Iraq (i think?) but would be home for the match, he also sent a cheque and Doug sent a ticket! Just thought this may help. Good luck |

... I went to Wembely in 94, 96 and twice in 2000, for the semi and the final, This was because I was a Season Ticket holder who travelled away. Now i'm a broke postgrad student who is lucky to get to 3 games a year, so as much as it pisses me off I accept I will not be at the final. I may decide to come up to brum for it, however. JUST HAD AN IDEA How about the club hire a couple of those Glastonbury style cinema screens and show it in front of the Holte and charge a fiver or something. I'm pretty sure that because it would not be an actual live game we could drink in the stands. |
