A song, a big week and some speculation

It's a big week for Aston Villa and one that could play a big role in our season although in truth, as long as we stay up, this season will be a success and reason to enjoy the summer and wait for whatever is going to happen to happen.

But a final would also be pretty impressive, all things considered and if we can get through this weekend by the time it comes around the season is over, so it allows us to concentrate on staying in the Premier League. And the players did all they could against Spurs to make Sunday a little easier.

And while I'm not sure the extra day or two matters these days, we have had a couple of extra days rest and we are going into this match full of confidence. And while we are still playing for survival in the Premier League, even if the sides below us all win their remaining games in hand we'd still be 15th with five games to go and we sort of know that the teams below us are not going to win all the games in hand.

And while this Sunday is the thing we should be focusing on, I'm still a believer that Premier League survival is more important and if you look at the sides around us in the bottom three, it's looking more and more likely that as long as we can pick up four points from the remaining five, we'll be okay.

In other news

Or actually this should not be called news, but speculation. There is talk that Tom Cleverley is attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Spurs and all this when Aston Villa fans don't seem to like him. I'm still not sold on him, but I don't think he's been as bad as many make out. And yes, he's definitely got better since Sherwood has come in, but so have a lot of players.

In even more speculation, we're apparently interested in 30 year old Brazilian Diego currently playing at Fenerbahçe as well as Bakary Sako from Wolves. There isn't much news going around so that's where we're going to leave it, apart from the video below that will be played as Aston Villa walk out at Wembley at the weekend.

But, win this weekend then there is huge reason to get excited about a trip to Wembley.
