A look at Sunderland and no big questions

Someone asked yesterday if we could put up a poll about Martin O'Neill and if you supported him or not and while I'm not saying no, I am saying that it's not the right time. I have seen it on other sites, but I don't want to put it on this site right now because we have so much to play for and it is only going to breed negativity, simply because the question is asked.

So, instead, we will look at what the manager achieves this season and I will ask about your thoughts on how we have progressed at the end of the season when we have finished fifth and have the FA Cup in the cabinet.

I can't stop you talking about it though and I can't stop other sites putting up polls but for now, this part of the season is too important to be playing those games but I will point you to this. We asked the question back in September and 67.6% of you thought he was the man back then.

Sunderland

So, tomorrow night we play Sunderland and blah de blah de blah, it is a must win game. Okay, it isn't and if we don't win it isn't over. Some will think it is, but it isn't. If we win, we will be two points behind Spurs in fourth place and if they lose their next match and we win our next match, we will be above them.

It really is quite close. In fact, if we win tomorrow night and Manchester City lose at home to Everton, it is conceivable that we go above them and as long as we do win, we will go above Liverpool also, who have played more than the four clubs fighting for fourth spot, although I still do think they will claim fourth spot.

I also think we can win tomorrow night. I know I said that about Wolves and in the end we were actually quite fortunate to get a point, but Sunderland are beatable and they have only won once away from home all season - losing ten. Is there a better team to be playing at Villa Park right now when we need a little boost?

We might also see a couple of changes tomorrow night, but we will look at that in more detail tomorrow as we are probably going to get some news from the club later or tomorrow and we could make some guesses, but I'm not in the mood for that right now, although it would be nice to see Delph, a little more of Albrighton and Gabby back - but that is maybe too big a wish list to hope for.

Weekly Wish

I've said above this isn't a must win game and it isn't really as we could lose this and go on and win every other game this season, but three points is important tomorrow. So, if I had a weekly wish, it will be three points tomorrow. If we don't get three, I fear what it will be like hear tomorrow night; Chiefy and JPA will be pulling their hair out.

Video of the Day

I do have another video for you though. Most would have seen this, I just thought it funny, so I am adding it here. {rokbox title=|Smithy :: Aston Villa Blog Video of the Day| text=|Click here to watch|size=|640 505| album=|demo|}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvvKUtHlDK8&autoplay=1{/rokbox}.
