The big match: Aston Villa v Sunderland

My earlier post was starting to get a bit on the large side with comments so in an attempt to keep it fresh, I'm starting another.

There is nothing new from earlier, but we do have team news and I am getting more and more annoyed with our most recent signing, Robert Pires, so I'll start with him.

He spoke yesterday of the pressure the manager is under. I don't like players talking about the manager and his job, I think it's wrong and I think he needs telling. But who am I to comment?

What’s certain is that the two games coming up against Sunderland and against Sheffield United in the FA Cup will be very, very decisive for Gerard’s future. It’s true it’s a bit tense. Gerard is having trouble getting his message across. He is used to a certain way of working and he arrives with new methods. From what I’ve understood, there have been several meetings between Gerard and the players who didn’t really agree with him.

Team news v Sunderland

I think I'm right when I say there are no changes. Anyway, here is the team: Friedel, Cuellar, Collins, Dunne, Clark, Downing, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Webcam, Gabby and Heskey. On the bench we have Marshall, Pires, Albrighton, Delfouneso, Bannan, Lichaj and Herd.
