Aston Villa pick up three points against Blackburn

Look, I predicted 4-0 and I got it wrong, I'm sorry. But if you followed my prediction you'll be owing me a beer and why was I confident of three points; because it was Blackburn.

My point: it was a banker game, we were always going to win this one. Next week will be tougher, but we should win that too.

But, we do have some nice things to talk about. Gabby scored a great goal, taking it in from the left and bending it in past the keeper - it was very much like a goal I am scoring on a regular basis on my new PS3 and FIFA 11.

Bent also scored, as did Emile Heskey and his was also quite nice - from just outside the box, a goal that not only surprised me but also put a smile on my face.

You could however be surprised for thinking Charles N'Zogbia came on as a sub in the 75th minute because it was just past then that we saw something of him, until then, he was, for the most part, not really involved. But he is still getting to know the players and he will need a little time.

Overall, a great result. You can not ask for much more than three points at home on the first game of the season and even if Blackburn looked like a side heading for relegation, yes, I've said that after two games, all you can do is beat them and we did.

Man of the Match

So, please vote for your man of the match to the right. I have a feeling I know who will win this, but I could be wrong, I was wrong about the score.
