Aston Villa at Norwich, bet of the day and updates

I wanted to do things a little differently today, by embedding a Twitter timeline into the post using the AVFC hashtag, but it hasn't worked out how I would have liked, so instead, we're back to where we always are on a match day.

And that is no bad thing. And more than usual I've got a good feeling about today. I really do think and I think I'm basing this on history, that my weekend is going to be good because don't we usually win when we are the first game of the weekend?

I could be making that up, I'm not basing it on anything other than a feeling, but I've just got a good feeling. The wife is giving me the day in return for me giving her my undivided attention tomorrow. It's a win win and if Aston Villa win, it's a triple bonus.

And if I'm lucky, she might even make my favourite for dinner, it could be a great weekend.

To the match

One point separates us from Norwich and I know we're only a few games in and before the birth of the internet, the papers didn't usually publish league tables until six games and I know the league table today means nothing, especially after the start we had.

But a win would be good for us. We've got Spurs next week and a bit match next weekend too. Having a positive result today would set us up. But more importantly if we started to play the way we all know we can, that would be absolutely perfect.

And I made a pledge yesterday, to not bet on us today and if we win, I'd not bet on us all season. So, my bet of the day is this; Chelsea and Liverpool to win and West Brom to draw. A £10 stake pays out £71 and you can get those odds here. Trust the force.

Updates and team news

And with that piece of wisdom, I'm going to leave you for a bit until the team news is out, but we need your predictions below and anything you've got that might be interesting to others, please post.

Team news

Guzan, Bacuna, Clark, Vlaar, Luna, Delph, El Ahmadi, Tonev, Weimann, Gabby and Benteke. On the bench we have Steer, Baker, Albrighton, Sylla, Kozak, Helenius and Bennett.

I am thinking we will see Albrighton on for Tonev at some stage today and that this is the day that Albrighton has to show something.
