Aston Villa v West Ham: Banter, links, updates and team news

The day has arrived and the 'not as long as it was when I was a kid' summer comes to an end. You see, I associate the end of summer with the beginning of the football season but I don't like to think of it as something ending - more something beginning.

The match kicks off in just over four hours and until then, we might add a few links for you here and we will be adding team news and if you have nothing else to do in the meantime, you could follow some of the links below - they might not all be Villa related, but we will do our best.

We really do fancy that Webcam is going to make this his season. Milner took a bit of the spotlight from him last season and we reckon that Webcam needs the spotlight. Well, it is his if he wants it now. All he has to do is go out and show us what we all know he is capable of.

Links

If you are in a place where you can not get to a TV to watch the game and you are not in Birmingham, you might want to follow this link to watch the game. We have nothing to do with this site so don't come here five minutes into the game asking for help in setting it up. Do it now!

We are also adding more sites to our Aston Villa links site here - so if you have an Aston Villa site - let us know below and we might add it.

Twittering all day today. If you use Twitter, or even if you don't, all you have to do is click here to follow us. We will be updating the site through the day.

Talking about updates - the update to this site hasn't happened in time for the new season. I got carried away with gardening and drinking beer. Next week hopefully.

Speculation

The ongoing saga of James Milner will hopefully be resolved this weekend and I have to say it, but he is making a huge footballing mistake. Sure, personally he will earn a lot of money from it, but for footballing reasons, he is making a mistake. Ironically, I think he knows this, but he doesn't really care - footballers don't care these days.

Team News

Friedel, Young, Dunne, Clark, Warnock, Albrighton, Petrov, Milner, Downing, Webcam and Carew.
