Aston Villa 2 Manchester United 2: It should have been more but I don't care, it was fantastic

We might not have three points from that match but we won it today. People will have noticed that performance today and people will now start talking about Aston Villa in the way people should be talking about Aston Villa.

You might not agree, but we were the better team in the first half and apart from the last ten minutes in the second, we were absolutely fantastic and I have rarely used that word when it comes to my football club. But we were. We were fucking fantastic.

Hogg and Bannan were fantastic. Gabby was fantastic. Downing, Albrighton and Webcam were fantastic. Young, Warnock, Collins and Dunne were fantastic and even Brad Friedel came for a cross. Like I said, we were fantastic today.

It comes down to belief and we had it in spades today. We played in a way that I've not seen Aston Villa play in a long time and it wasn't just about desire. It was about skill, intelligence and ability. I hope it continues and I hope we continue with the players that made it happen.

I'm leaving this now, because I've got a huge smile on my face and I don't want to get carried away, but a message to the older players out injured; don't think you can walk back into this team now, the kids are more than just special.

Please vote for your man of the match to the right, I'm going to watch the game again before picking mine, but it will be one of the two in the middle and probably the Scot, but maybe Downing and maybe Ash and I might even pick Gabby or Marc. It is a tough one this week.
