Aston Villa up to third after beating Manchester United at Old Trafford

The first forty-five minutes and for the opening period of the second half we passed the ball about and on occasion made Manchester United chase us around for the ball and it looked very good. In fact, it was good enough to get us three points at Old Trafford and take us to third place in the table.

I'm not going to spend any time today on the match but I am going to say that the first half was as good as I have seen under Martin O'Neill and if we did that week in week out. Actually, no, I don't want to think about what could be possible, but it was very impressive.

But, we are now third in the table. We beat Manchester United at Old Trafford and after six substitutions in the second half alone, there was only three minutes added. It was great to see Sir Alex lose it.

The goal came from Gabby from an Ashley Young cross and it was enough. A fanny bit of trivia for you today; it is only clubs from the Midlands to win today. But now, I have to go get a beer. More tomorrow and don't be surprised to see if the passing numbers for the first half represent something like 65% of all our passes, bit more on that tomorrow.
