BBC West Midlands fan forum and more speculation

Quick mention of a BBC West Midlands Aston Villa fan forum coming up soon. It is on Monday 24th January at The Barn in Brookvale Road, Witton, at 7.30pm and tickets are free - but if you want to go, you have to call 0370 901 1227 now to reserve your place.

Gary Shaw is a hope, but Des Bremner will be there and Matt Kendrickson from the Birmingham Mail will also be there. It should be a good night and seeing as you are all customers of the Birminghm Mail, if you can corner Matt, ask him to buy you a beer and put it on expenses.

Speculation

I hate rumours at this time of the year, I really do, but apparently Gerard Houllier is flying off to France to try and get the deal done for Jean Makoun, we are interested in Wigan Athletic duo Maynor Figueroa and Hugo Rodallega and Curtis Davies is wanted by a few teams.

In other news, we've apparently had a bid in from Sunderland for Stewart Downing and we've rejected it. I don't believe this, but it is speculation and it is getting a mention.

In other news

Frem is now on Twitter. You can follow him here. It has to be worth a laugh doesn't it?

Lastly today, Peterborough director of football sly Barry Fry has confirmed to Sky Sports that he has rejected a bid from us for goalkeeper Joe Lewis. Wahey, news! I'm off to eat some Pork sratchings but if the club go back in with a sensible offer, Peterborough will let him go.
