I don't normally do publicity posts like this, but this needs a little attention, so forgive me for the three minutes it will take for you to read this.
Aston Villa fan Pete Gough is literally going to attempt to run a marathon a day, from Celtic Park in Glasgow to Villa Park, the home of football.
He's doing this for Cure Leukaemia and I know some might think we've had our fair share of charity for this cause over the past few months and maybe we have, but running over 30 miles a day take balls of steel and I for one think Pete deserves a pat on the back or maybe even something else .. maybe even just a little support from Aston Villa fans.
He started three days ago and has quite a few to go, but he is apparently on track, so doing quite well.
The schedule
- Thursday - Gretna to Carlisle
- Friday – Carlisle to Kendall
- Saturday – rest day
- Sunday – Kendall to Preston
- Monday – Preston to Wigan
- Tuesday – Wigan to Beeston
- Wednesday – Beeston to Shrewsbury
- Thursday – Shrewsbury to Shifnal
- Friday – rest day
- Saturday – Shifnal to Villa Park
Now, this is the part I don't do often, but Pete is doing this to raise money and he has a Just Giving page here and he has reached his target, but in my book, targets are meant to be beaten, not just reached, so if you can spare a few quid, even £3.10 (a penny a mile) then please click here and donate and don't have that extra pint tonight.
He also has a Facebook page here where I imagine there will be updates and more info on his route. And on that note, I bid you farewell and good luck Pete.
