Fiorentina, fantasy football, win a phone and seven days

In one week from now I'll be waking about an hour ago, probably hopefully with a slight headache but nothing to harsh and I'll be gearing up for the start of the new season. Someone asked me yesterday if I was looking forward to it and I answered that 'football gave everything else meaning'.

I can't wait and I was that desperate for some competitive football with familiar faces I watched Middlesbrough last night and you know what, Southgate will get the sack this season; he really doesn't have a clue and it won't make me happy but it will put a smile on my face when it happens.

Anyway, enough about Southgate, we have a match against Fiorentina this afternoon. It is only a friendly and I'm actually not really that interested. Is that wrong? Sure, it's a good run out and a few players might get a look in that may not even play next season, but it's a run out.

O'Neill will surely be playing the team he will start against Wigan next week but I suspect it will end completely differently. I've actually talked myself into the 'slightly interested' bracket now, but not my much.

What is interesting and something that will be fun all season, is the fantasy football game we are running. Next Friday I am closing the league so if your team isn't registered by then it isn't going to get into the league and you are not going to win any prizes.

We are also giving away a mobile phone on August 23rd and it's a pretty good one too. All you have to do is click here, follow the instructions and you will be entered. Don't forget to look at the website that gives you a big bloody clue to the answer because some are sending in the answer one over and on under.

Right, there isn't much else going on today in the papers that hasn't been covered, so I'm going to cross another day off my calender. Next week we will be back with the preview post, some betting posts and this time next week I will be finishing my bacon sandwich, listening to 5 Live and generally just feeling very happy.
