Speculation is mounting and will England beat Italy? Football is a funny old game and you don't get much funnier that the summer. January comes close, but the summer is where it is for me.
The rumour today and I fancy there could be something in this is that we're after John Ruddy. Ruddy, if you didn't know is a goalkeeper and seeing as Brad Guzan has left, we need one and well, if Lambert had faith in him before, there is no reason to think he still doesn't.
He also offers some value at 25 years old, in so much that we could get a good few years out of him or if it doesn't work out, there is always the chance we can sell him on.

But that is all Aston Villa for now and I don't like jumping into the speculation that much, but that one makes sense to me. Now, we turn our attention to the Italians, because if we win this match, even I'll start to believe.
I have to confess also that I've not got into this tournament just yet, but I think this could be the match that turns it for me. I'm not sure if it is because I had no doubt we would qualify or because I was actually getting tired and needed a break from the game, but it feels like I can easily move up a gear from watching a match every now and then to every match that comes.
So, can England beat the Italians and does Rooney deserve to start? I think yes and no, but that is me. Hopefully some news from Aston Villa soon, but for now, that is it. I'm off for lunch.
