Cheers Nigel, now go earn your money

Nigel Reo-Coker has left Aston Villa. He isn't the only one though as he is joined by nine others. John Carew, Moustapha Salifou, Robert Pires, and Isaiah Osbourne have all left from the first team squad too.

Youngsters Harry Forrester, Arsenio Halfhuid, Durrell Berry, Ellis Deeney and Calum Flanagan have also left the club.

This isn't really a surprise. After Reo-Coker had his training ground incident with O'Neill and he got his head turned by all the numbers, he was always going to leave and actually, you can't blame him.

Of the others players leaving, only Harry Forrester surprises. He came to the club and there were big hopes - it turned out he just wasn't good enough at this level, so off he goes and talk is that Ajax might be interested. I hope he does well.

Other than that, there is no news about Brad Friedel. I believe he is out of contract this year, so I guess the club are still negotiating and that the player hasn't yet said there is no chance.
